3000 RPM in 5th gear at approx 70 mph?? seems kinda high. i would think you had 4.10s in there

Well, if you bought the car and it had aftermarket gears on it, then you have to do the math on the tire size and RPM per MPH. Otherwise, if you have stock gears then look at the metal tag on your Diff Cover. Mine showed 3L08 for 3.08 Locking, they are the same for the other types.

Forgot to mention this.... Jack up your car and center your U-Joint bolts in a certain position, then rotate the wheels in forward motion in a full revolution. Count the number and fraction of turns your drive shaft makes, and this is your gear ratio. If you aren't sure then draw a circle and then mark the top from where you started and then mark where you stopped. Write down the full turns, most likely 3 or 4. Then on the fraction split the circle in to sections and figure out the percentage of rotation that you have made and you will know close to your gear ratio... close enough to know the difference between 4.10 and 4.56 or 3.08 and 3.73.. You know it will be atleast 3.27 since it's a Cobra.
