That's funny that you mention the no 1/4mi time, dyno, hp or any numbers 95mustangGT, because i've read only 1....yes 1 that actually had dyno numbers AND the cost of the items. It was a civic and for $2000 they got some cheesy fart pipe "kamikazee X, insert other famous japanese word with a letter after it, name" a V-tech controller, intake system, and i forget what else, but they got like 6 horsepower....i'm not exaggerating at all. I'm sure the powerband went all to hell also, not that it has much of one to begin with.
I watch speedvision on cable and they have alot of Hotrod TV, rally racing and other cool stuff. But they have a lame ricer show where they show case "sport comcrap" cars and none of the owners really know what anything does, how fast it goes or anything like that. They'll just say, "it really throws me back in the seat", or "i haven't had it dyno'd after the new stuff i put on", not that it was ever dynod in the first place, and if it was it would be pitiful anyway for the amount that they have to pay for all that crap.
Another thing i find amusing is people who are like, "yeah, i'm gonna make my 15 second prelude "all motor". I don't think these people realize the amount of precise machining and lightweight/strong parts and cost and especially having to ahave a great combination of matching parts it takes to have a 12 second NA car, especially one powered by overworked hampsters. Of course, all this arguing is silly because after all, just like fast and the furious all these cars are "10 second cars".
Ok...i'll get off my soap box now, i just had to let the world hear my obnoxious ramblings.
