What would you do if we gave you the keys to a PONTIAC for a week?
 

I'm sick of that stupid commercial...so I typed Pontiac a response via their request....I would do nuetral drops until that little V-6 spun a halfshaft....drive it over speed bumps at 60 mph...use every additive known to man kind, just to show that nothing can help a GM product...rent the car for beer, because that's all it's worth...and last of all, park it in a really bad neighborhood just to see if anyone would steal it...

Trade them in for a Set of Mustang GT/Bullit/Cobra keys.

I'd also do netural drops, ram it and try to get it air born, pull up on the parking brake while doing 70 in the mall parking lot at midnight, and install the 250 HP shot of spray my uncle has laying in his garage, just to see how many pieces I could blow the engine into.

I'd have to enter it in an Enduro race (WIth airbags still active):D

Relive some BULLIT scenes from the movie. Although in PA me and a friend took his Hyndaui Excel, 87 or 88 model and went hill jumping in it. Yes it got pretty airborne, and we heard a few things fall off. We also took it offroading and hit a tree stump and got stuck, we also went through a Construction site and power slid through alot of wet concrete.

The car had to wiegh 100 or so pounds more because the undercarraige was caked full of dried concrete. :D He also p!ssed off some guys in another car once and they kicked his door, which broke the mirror, ripped off the side molding and put a huge dent in it. I feel sorry for whoever bought that car after we were done with it. It was definiete Beaters.com material because he put stick on flames on it. A crocked bumper, The door damage, Pep boys chrome plated plastic fake Rim hubcaps. Homemade pin striping, and a 3000$$ stereo system. Oh the memories..I wish I was still up in PA in a way. Although that friend went to the Import side of performance, he's still my friend. :D

you guys are insane! use your head! sell the car on the black market, take the money, use it for you Stang, and when Pontiac wanted there keys back, tell them it got stolen! see if you smash the car or beat the living hell out of it, you only get a weeks worth of satisfaction. by selling it, you can take that money and use it in your Stang, or anything else, and have pure satisfaction! well thats would i would do. but.........

well i would prolly top it out in reverse and then slam it to drive and listen to in grind
i would of course video tape it and post it up
i would of course do the neutral drops off the rev limiter then i would just beat on it and play dukes of hazzard and then i would bring it back with body panels hanging off and the motor knocking and tranny not shifting

svr1 I like to live dangerous. I'd also cut the exhaust system off, put VETC badges on it, and add about 2 quarts of oil to the gas tank and crusie the local cruis spot(gezz I'm a idiot):D :D :D

I'd beat the living crap out of it but I really have no personal hatred for Pontiac. I drive my moms Montana and I do beat the **** out of it, and love it. Thing never gives up on keeping me entertained for a van. lol Of course don't get me wrong I love stangs and would take them over any Pontiac.
I wouldn't mind a nice Trans-Am for a week. I'd beat the crap out of it tell the Transmission fell right out of the car, all four tires off the car and I'd drive it back to the dealership on the rims. lol And I'd be like thats a test drive. =)

Ok funny true story. lol I finished reading most of these posts and here is my story since everyone in my town already knows the rest of the world mide as well. lol My friends stole one of our friends at school we hate t-bird. It's just a 1988 LX (Not SC) anyway they found his keys in the gastank so copied them and took the car out and did like everything you guys list. lol They found a hill and put the car to like 140km and went over the hill, they beat the crap out of it. They were doing burn outs, throwing it in neutral reving it and throwing it into drive (It's automatic), they'd drive along at like 80km and throw it into reverse. Anyway they beat the living **** out of this car, they ripped the front licenece plate off the car trying to go up an extremly STEEP hill, the heat shield fell off, they drove the car into a pile of sand. Everything possible. But they thought it'd be a bright idea to tape all this and the video got around on the internet until the guy seen it and got a hold of it and gave it to the cops. Long story short 5 of them have a court date December 5th.

I have the video but it's like 80mb. I will try to post it on a ftp if I can get my friends to ok this. lol It was a joke gone wrong and now there all equally screwed.

that story reminds me of a guy that bought a cadalllac for $59. it didn't have a floor on it, and the brakes weren't exactly *quality*. dude took it out for a drive, lost control, hit a tree.........walked away and let it sit there lol.

and the Pontiac? heck, trade it in for something better. i dunno......a new MUSTANG

Ok, we all know that trashing anyone's car is a DEATH sentence in my book, I think mach was just telling a story...we've all heard of someone doing something stupid...
My frustration is Pontiac's portrayal that you will become this outgoing white water rafting fool when you drive a Pontiac vehicle...NOT! (unless it's a Firehawk).
I did'nt mean to have this thread evolve into a destruction of property promotion...but I still can't stand that damn commercial...

yeah i think we all realize he was just passing the story along and no one was blaming him for it. but its just so annoying to me and others it would seem when something like that happens even to someone i dont know.

BTW: that commercial does suck! seems like its on evey 15min.

When that commercial comes on, I honestly can't watch it so I change the channel. If I were given teh Pontiac, I'd sell it and have the fastest, best looking Mustang in town. If I had to beat it back, I'd take it mud bogging...

If i had the keys to a new pontiac i'd chain the backend of it up to a tree, spray tons of silicone lubricant on the tires then drench the tires and ground in soapy water and do a 100+ mph (according to the speedometer) burnout until the thing ends up throwing little pontiac pieces all over the ground and surrounding foliage.

I'd chain a shopping cart to the trunk, cut the springs till the thing litteraly scrapes on the ground and makes sparks, then drive it to the local rice hang out and talk sh#t. Then make lots of babies in that back seat and set it on fire while doing a little jig to " beat of the rythm of the night" You all know that song!! Don't try to deny it!!!! :cool:

took it about 60mph and threw it into park. i was hoping for a grind or a bang or something but i forgot about electronically controlled trannys', the damn thing shut off completely and rolled to a stop and i couldnt start it again for like a minute

then i decided to play rally racer using the e-brake :D

Yeh don't shoot the messanger I was just telling you a story but I totally agree with you. It was more of an annoying kid then never got the hint that they didn't want to be friends with him and they tried doing it in a nice way tell this happen (I know it is TOO FAR) but the guy still wants to be friends. He is a jug head I guess. But my friends wouldn't do this to me they know better, my one friend was sitting on my van one day and I told him to get off he didn't and I took off with it tell he had to jump off and another stupid fker was on my roof and I stepped on it and slammed on the breaks. Luckily it's only the van, if it was the stang they know I'd shoot the sob's. But they love my car and we're really all into cars thats how I don't even understand them doing this to someone elses. Like our source of entertainment in the summer is watching cars drive by a popular road near our house. We just sit and talk about cars tell like 12-1 in the morning.

Well, seeing as I have a Pontiac lover for a brother who has been building Pontiac / Chevy / and even Ford performance engines for 25 years I'd have to bring it to him. Then, I'd have him pull his 650 HP naturally aspirated 469 cubic inch roller motor out of his 1969 GTO and transplant it into the POS. Then, I'd give it back to Pontiac after blowing away every other GM product on the road (except death machine Mustangs like mine that it still couldn't touch) for the whole week and tell them to take this as a lesson as to how they should have designed it in the first place. Then, MAYBE, they'd have a chance against the mightly Blue Oval Mustang. :D :D :eek: :D :D

My mother-in-law has a Pontiac Grand Am. What a piece of ***. I just replaced the water pump last week and the car only has 101,000 miles on it. Oh yeah, not to mention Overdrive is already gone also. Oh yeah and the thing leaks oil out of everything! Oh yeah... Will I think you get my point:D
