late 89. first year for mass air. first year for 140mph speedo, no air bags to mess with. and its a 25th aniversery model. 89-92 are pretty much the same motor though, 93 had different pistions, bringing the hp down to 205 from 225 in the other years.

As far as motor goes I would say 89-92, but agree with hiflow50 because of the same reasons. I ahve two 88's and one of them came mass air because it was made in California, all of there 88's came that way due to smog.
