Default Whatever happened to the Mustangworks get-together?

I'm talking about the post from a few months back where we were trying to get a bunch of our members together and rent a track out for a day, do some racin, meet some members, grill out, and have a great time.

I mean, if the Corral can do it, then I know we can too!

How about Indianapolis Raceway Park?, not cause its the closest to me, but since its umm, a great track,, uhh, actually it sucks, so ummm someone else suggest something. (preferebly in the midwest)

JL1314- Get the stang fixed so you can be ready or bring it there and will all tinker on it. Anyways, where theres a will theres a way and I believe there would be a good turnout.

Yeah, that was Tireburner and I's idea awhile back. I actually looked into it quite a bit and put a lot of thought into it. But after talking to a few members about it realistically, we figured it wouldn't work very well and most people wouldn't be able to attend anyways. If we decided a certain date at a certain location a year or so in advance and really advertised and promoted it, then it could possibly work. But for now it'd be more realistic to just have some regional meets and let people do it on their own.

OK, then lets set up a dyno day at my friends shop for us midwesterners, or anyone else who can come. I can get a great deal on an all day dyno session. Theres plenty of room for everybody.

Well, 1fastchick and I are discussing having a Michigander's MW / SBN get-together at my house in June... Maybe even July 4th weekend! We'll let eveyone know soon...!

I have to get my pool open first!! God - just not enough time in the day... *sigh* Didn't our parents used to say that?

problem is people want it close to them. that is why a big MW get together wouldnt work. if we break it up as mentioned before, i say we would have better luck.

i would go if there was one on the east coast, lets say in Maryland, which is 3 or so hours away from me. i am willing to drive, but it has to be reasonable for the majority. i say 3 hours is reasonable, but for others? hmmm....

Well this would be for all who want to come. Its not that far of a drive from Ohio or IL to the area we live in. Hotels aren't that expensive either.
We are playing with a bunch of different ideas. One being a weekend where there are some races going on at Milan dragway.

The central most part to have any get together (sbn just figured this all out) is in MIssouri at some lake. But after the headache or working and reading about that get together I am not even going.

There is also ways that the southeaster, middle and west can all make their own meeting places and dates for group get together

I'm going to be having a BBQ June 8th. I know there are a few people somewhat close. If anyone's interested let me know. For those who may not know Columbus is in Northeastern MS on the border of AL. About 2 hours from Birmingham, AL. Maybe 3 hours south of Memphis.

That's how it would have to be... alot of people don't or can't go to these thins because they're far away. Regional meetings make more sense, but can cost more $$ than just one day for everyone all at once.
*EDIT* for bad typo!

ROFL!!! Yeah, I used to believe I knew more than my parents, and that technology would give us more time to get things done. Go figure.

Take care,

Default You know I've been thinking...

Ever since I got here I been thinking about a get together (a big one) but I never said anything for:

1. I'm too shy and would never get the chane to go.

2. I, as of yet to have a stang of my own

3. It would be hard to get everyone together but it would take time.

4. I feel I would be judged wrongly for so reason, if you all got to know me.

anyway....

I was thinking, I want a BIG get together with the track and BBQ
and EVERYTHING. Of course as mentioned this would have to be planned a year or so in adavance and promoted ... we could do that right? How many are really in favor of a big get together of the herd?

1. Take a tally of where everyone lives, where the most members are get the track/place in that region of USA. Example if everyone is in the south then the event will be in a Southern/MID region- say Mississippi. Or if in the largest is on the west coast then the event will be in Navada or Colorado.

2. Now to get everyone there whether close or far, get together in small groups to travel/crusie. Say all the people in Texas meet and cruse
to the event together. So people not wishing to drive by themselves will not have to.
People/groups traveling long distances should get together and plan on pplaces to stop or lodge if the trip is too long.
But hopefully we get a place that will not be TOO far from anyone.

WELL it's just a thought....
