Maybe things will heat up in there once the weather does.
I don't think that I'll be going out to the track for another month or so. ------------------ 91 coupe 3.73's,long tubes,2 1/2" exh,ported stock t-body,ProM-77mm cobra intake,edelbrock heads,B303,1.72 rr's 36lb inj's,tremec, & a Paxton NOVI 2000!!! 11.020 @128.95 on BFG Drag Radials (275/60/15) |
Seems like most people post drag wins on the Blue Oval forum or Street Racers Corner.
Personally, I haven't been to the track lately b/c of lack of time and no new mods to the car (taking me forever to get the drag radials http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/mad.gif ) ------------------------------- '79 Mustang Coup w/ 4" Cowl Stock 5.8L, C4 w/ shift kit Holley 750 cfm, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake 1 5/8" MAC shorty headers, Al driveshaft 2.5" Off road H-pipe, 2-chamber Flowmasters Front: 225/60/15, Rear: 255/60/15 Eagle GT II Weld wheels (15x6;15x8), 8.8" Rear w/ 3.55s 14 x 4” K&N air filter (getting the Xtreme setup soon) http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/cool.gif "Red, thou art my companion. Nick:
As previously noted; most of us live in areas where tracks are just beginning to open and many don't take the 'Stang out until May, due to weather. That's the main reason for the low response to the forum. Add to that; new forums take time to get used and with the Street Racer and Blue Oval forums already used for race posts, it'll take awhile (and some effort) for members to switch to the Drag forum to post track stories, but I believe they will, as we'll eventually be moving track-related posts to that forum, when we see them on other forums. It's ironic that members ask for more forums and then often fail to make use of them when they are available. That's why we don't respond to one or two requests for a new feature or forum, as experience has shown that too often, what a few folks say they want, most others ignore, so Dan tries to strike a balance and offer as many features and forums as possible, but not every 'need' can be met. New forums are great; but when not used, they will probably be discontinued. ------------------ Mr. 5.0 Messageboard Administrator |
Some of us who do go to the track a few times a year are probably just uncomfortable posting in that forum due to our weak times. I would think that a drag strip forum would be more for bracket racers. Sometimes when I go to test and tune night at HRP, I get lined up against something like Dan's DEATH MACHINE. Usually that ype of car asks for a bye in case they twist an axle or something they don't want any problems with the other lane since it doesn't count for anything anyway. When I do have to go against a trailered car with a blown 502 and wheelie bars, I don't feel the need to post the obvious results. If I do have an interesting race at the track, I'd be more prone to post it in the street racer's corner. My $.02.

Is it possible people don't post stories in the Drag Racing Forum because of the description on the Message Board Page:
i.e, Drag Racing Central: Discussions relating to all Ford racing events and organizations. Including event info, questions, rule discussions, engine combinations, etc. Street Racer's Corner: This is the ultimate place for the street racing addict. For serious discussion and stories about street/strip victories, and to let everyone know where the hot street racing spots are every where. The definition suggests that the forum to post strip stories is Street Racers Corner. |
