What's your least favorite ford vehicle ever built?

In light of the favorite non-mustang discussion, i was just wondering what your LEAST favorite fords of all time were....or at least a ford that you would NEVER drive for any reason.

I'm sure some people may have strong feelings about this! :D

I'll go with:
#1 Ford Probes
#2 Mid 90's windstars and 3.8L taurus
#3 Early 80's Ford EXP and Escort
#4 Ford Fiesta

My mechanic has a mid 80's tempo with a 4 cyl diesel from the factory that gets 50 MPG and runs like a top after 300+ thousand miles.. I dont think a battery and one brake job in its life makes it a bad car now do you??

I love all fords... you people make me sick. :p
The fiesta's are one my favorite.. I've seen so many cool Fiesta's. I seen one pull like 182db's once at a sound competition and I seen a Fiesta with twin engine. Front engine and one in the trunk. PRETTY SWEET! I will own one, one day. :D hehehe

Our 95 Windstar isnt the best ford weve ever owned. It blew a head gasket and warped the block so we had to get a new engine. it wasd barely under warranty but that meant i didnt get to drive to school for like 3 weeks :( (pre-stang days, driving the oldsmobile)

Whoa! That's awesome! I've never heard of a car holding up that well and being that efficient! But I bet that's not too common, even with the diesels....I know of a few Tempos around here (regular gasoline models) that are complete pieces and are falling apart. I'm sure it has a great deal to do with the owner/driver also, but still....:p

f-350 truck.

here in CS texas ppl think that because they live 5 miles outside of town that warrants a f-350 jacked up 50 feet with flow and k&n stickers all over it. what makes that annoying is that they have a tendency to play run over the 87 GT in the next lane. one good snarl generally makes them aware of my presence.

I hate to say it, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Pinto's. They have potential. Really. Okay, you can stop laughing now.

The Festiva, all 63 horsepower of it, was a Kia, so that doesn't count.

The Escort's sucked eggs all the way around, with the exception of the 1.8L from '91 on. But, since the 1.8L was a Mazda engine, I'd say the Escort was the worst. The "ALL-Ford" Escort.

However, I once was stuck with a mid-eighties 2.3L Tempo as a rental, and it was the most uncomfortable, driver unfriendly, slow-as-sin, gasoline powered vehicle I've ever driven, so it has to have at least a (dis)honorable mention.

So, I'd say:

1) Any Escort with a Ford engine

2) The 2.3L Tempo I rented in Newark, N.J., in 1985.

FWIW: Oddly enough, the best Tempo engine (2.0L diesel, IMHO) and the best Escort engine (1.8L gas, IMHO) were both Mazda engines. Go figure.

Take care,
~Chris

I would say the fiesta and the festiva. There's on running around town with racing stripes.....stupid.

Ahhhh, the Pinto. I had a friend in high school that had a Pinto. Easter egg green and in excellent shape. I got to drive it for a day. My need for speed and love for Ford started with that car. What a cute little guy.;)

Assfire. Worst Ford ever made.

NotchJohnson 10-23-2002 11:16 AM

I have to agree with Chris on the pintos. Ive seen a few at the track that were straight up insane! Not saying I would buy the next one I come accross, but I cant say I hate them. As far as my most hated ford, Id go with that new focus wagon thing, it just doesnt do it for me. IM not to keen on the new t-bird either. - John
