Question Where can I find an SVO hood? Repro or Used

I posted this here cause not many people go into the Appearance and Detail messegboards.

Does anyone know where I can get either a used SVO hood or a repoduction. I want the scoop off center like on an original SVO hood. If I cant find the one I want then I'll probably get a repro hood with the scoop in the center from Cobra Design.

Finding a used hood is hard and I havent came across a company that make reproduction hoods with the scoop off center to the passenger side.

Thanks in advance!
Haley

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think a orginal SVO hood will fit on anything else than a SVO.

The original SVO hoods were different. The front end is different. However there are companys that advertise in MM+FF that sell SVO style hoods for your car.

An SVO hood will not fit anything else. You would have to put a whole new front clip on it. You would have a hard time finding it anyway. Remember, there were less than 10,000 built and they are now 16,17 and 18 years old. You might be able to find a wreck one and have someone good with body work just cut out the scoop area and then try it on a regular hood. I would not tell whoever you buy it from what you are doing, I belong to several SVO sites and people are so strong against using SVO parts on non-SVO cars since they are so hard to find. Thats why I suggest a wrecked SVO hood. Nobody could use it anyway. I've got a better idea......just buy an SVO. You can make them really fast, they look awesome, and you could still get @25mpg.

Id would like to get an SVO but they are hard to find around here. And yeah I know the hood wont fit but I know some people who can trim up the hood to fit so thats no big deal. Anyway thanks for the help.
BTW My car is getting a turbo 4 not a V-8 so in some respects I think its ok to use SVO parts
Also I think buying a perfectly good SVO and THEN parting it out is bad.

I had to drive from NC to PA to get mine. They are out there but sometimes hard to come across though. The SVOCA website has one in Kansas City for sell, but they just recently updated their website and the users e-mail is not valid anymore. It was an '86 for 3K. Keep looking there, they always have someone posting cars for sale. I know you are fixing another 4-banger, but what really makes the SVO so awesome is the way they handle. Remember, they have the 5-lug wheels and disc brakes all the way around. They also have the Koni shocks on all 4 corners as well as 16inch wheels. Those were pretty big by mid 80's standards. If you ever get a chance to drive one, go for it and you'll be hooked just like me(I've always been a V-8 man). If you do run acroos any, remember to make sure the SVO specific stuff is there before you dish out the cash. Also remember the 85.5 is the rarest and most sought after, thats followed closely by the 86. The 84 is the weakest of the years, but can still be made pretty fast. The gearing on 84's messed them up. Good luck finding one and if I see one near MO I'll let you know.
