It's a real tragedy whats happened today on the east coast. I wonder where was everyone when they heard of the attacks?
I was at home asleep. 2 minutes later the cable guy comes home to install cable and tells us what happens. DAMN!!

I was at home, getting ready to leave when I turned on my computer to pull up my e-mail. Right after doing that, I did a quick check of a political website I frequent (Free Republic) and it was loaded with messages about what happened at the Twin Trade Tpwers in Manhattan. I immediately turned on the TV. The rest we all know.

I live 90 miles from New York City. Not good.

I was in class at the time. One of my professors has a relative that works in one the towers and cancelled the rest of his classes today because of that. I still can't believe this really happened....

I was at work on the phone with a client booking his travel arrangements (I'm a gov't travel agent). We were also trying to listen to the radio. My husband works at the Pentagon, and I heard the breaking report of a plane hitting the Pentagon. I stopped dead in my tracks and listened to the radio, completely ignoring my customer. Then other coworkers ran to me to tell me the Pentagon had been hit and they asked if my husband was at work, which he was.

I started crying and shaking and tried to call his office (what was I thinking?) It was not until 315pm that I learned he was ok. He made it home, but could not get through on either land lines or cell phone to find anything out. All hell seemed to break loose for a while.

My prayers and Godspeed to all those in NY.

I was woken up by my family telling me to eat lunch. I said I wasn't hungry and then I'm told about bombs going off in the US, and attacks against New York. Little did I realize they were flying ******* aircraft into the World Trade Center. First channel on was CNN.

I was at work this morning, an AutoZone in Toledo. We'd barely had the doors open for an hour, then the garage across the street from our store called for a part and he asked, "have you guys heard what's going on in New York?" We turned the radio on immediately and heard it all as it was happening, in fact just after the first plane hit. I was there until noon, and I don't think there was a moment that my ear wasn't glued to the speakers.

The most unnerving part of my day was when I stepped outside to my car. I'd forgotten my keys (wonder why...), and as I walked up to the doors, I looked up almost instinctively. There was NOTHING but pure blue sky. No planes, no clouds, hardly any birds; it was like someone spraypainted the whole "ceiling" solid blue. God guys, I can't descibe it. Just at that moment, a customer walked out of the building. He saw the look on my face and said, "yeah, I know, I never thought I'd live to see the day when there wasn't one damn plane in the sky, either." Took the words right out of my mouth. It was then -- and only then -- that I knew it was all real.

I was in bed and i heard my dad turn up the TV and say, "come down here, look at this!" I was like, "ok, whatever" pretty much still asleep. I couldn't believe my eyes, it was BEYOND belief. I never could've imagined this happening.

...hell i've got an idea. Since all those bastards like to strap bombs to themselves and blow themselves up, why don't we do them a favor give them some "presents" from the sky. That outta save alot of time and money on their part as well as ours.....Goddam suicidal bastards.

I was at Port Columbus Internation Airport at 9:10 AM to pick up some business collegues. The scene at the airport was the most erie I've felt. At least a hundred people were gathered around a big screen TV at one of the gift-shops. Some were frantic, others in disbelief.

When the announcement echoed through the terminals that all flights across the nation had been cancelled effective immediately at the direction of the FAA - it got completely silent. It was all so surreal.

What a tragedy.
