Question Anyone else have an Oscar(fish) for a pet?

Just curious if anyone else out there has had the pleasure of having an Oscar as a pet. I've got two right now I've had since January. For being a fish they are pretty smart and have personality. They jump out of the water to grab worms, etc. out of your hand. Anyone else have one??

No oscars but I keep a 5G planted tank. As soon as I move I will be setting up my 29G. I also keep two snakes.

www.aquariacentral.com is a great site for information and help.

My dad used to have 3 Oscars. One had only one eye and his name was Popeye and the ther 2 were Olive Oyl and Oscar LOL. We had to give them away when we moved though. They were neat, we kept them in a 150+ gallon fish tank with drift wood and real plants.
Since then I have gotten a betta and going to get a new aquarium and get more fish since the apartment I am in doesnt allow dogs and I'm not too fond of cats.

Got a 30 gall. w/ a mix of Freshwater fish, then a 20 gall. with the smaller ones, a bowl w/ the babies that the middle sized ones had, and a 20 gallon tank w/ 3 red-ear slider turtles! They are cool. but i hate cleaning the turtle tank! Its a pita!
Need to do it tonight. I'll take a pic of my fish if you wanna see!!! heheh.....

No Oscars, but I've got a 45 gallon salt water tank. I have a porcupine puffer, a lion fish, a toad fish, a wolf eel and a powder blue tang. The cool thing is they all eat live goldfish for the majority of their diet, except for the tang. His mouth is too small, but he will eat the left over chunks of goldfish the puffer leaves from eating.

Yea I have two, They are some cool fish. Mine are out growing my fish tank.
It is my wife's fish tank and she used to have a lot of gold fish in it but I convinced her to let me get two oscars. Well when we got them they were smaller than the gold fish but would tear the fins off the gold fish until they got bigger then they ate all my wifes fish.
I had one really big one about 8 years before I got them so I knew what was going to happen.

Wow, I didnt think many people would reply to this post. I've got an albino and tiger oscar myself. Yeah you are right about the bulging eyes topless. I've got a picture of my fish but will post it tomorrow if I get a chance. They are fun fish but definately need maintaining more than most. They really get excited during feeding time. The tiger oscar has jumped out of the tank twice when I have opened the top for feeding.
302blownpony...I cant beleive your buddy had to get sticthes. Thats crazy. I'll have to watch out for that when they get older. You can stick your finger in there now and the will bite it, but they arent big enough yet to do damage. Sorry to hear you dont have JAWS anymore. I'm sure its like losing a dog or a cat...sort of I'll miss mine when they go. Hopefully that won't be for awhile. They are pretty young yet. ..about five inches.

They can get up to about 14-16 inches if I'm not mistaken.
