I like it too. although, i think they should have used a deeper blue, that looks too much like baby blue for me. maybe "hugger orange".

I agree about the shade of blue. It needa to be alot deeper. Hugger orange would look pretty bad a$$ on that car!

Thumbs up

I have to agree it is a sweet ride. It seems as Ford is executing a plan to acquire the lost souls when the F-Car dies.

Its a pretty car, but this half asssed revival of legends kinda irritates me. Don't get me wrong, I love the Bullitt. I've been wingless on my 94 for 2 years, and people who used to say how ugly it was now are like wow! that looks good (ironic, huh?). But I mean, Christ, enough already. They can't just stick some decals on and change the seats and attempt to resurrect the image of a big block monster from the "age of muscle cars". Ugh, I think I'm just having a bad day...ignore me lol

A Mach 1? Cool! Mach 1 is without a doubt the coolest name available, and should be used again by Ford.

Did I mention that Mach 1 was a cool name?

Mustang Belle. This isnt just a rehash, didnt you read the part about 4V 4.6 L?

I think its awesome. I'm not to crazy about the color, but I think its better than the standard colors now a days. I'd love to see it in Hugger Orange, or Perfromance Red, or the Screaming Banana Yellow.

The color isnt anything that cant be changed. I especially like the part about the 4V motor. If it comes out, I'll sell my 2000 GT in a heartbeat.

Question

Sorry guys, but Belle is right, this is just a rehash of a TRUE LEGEND. It's cool that they are headed in the right direction, but they're not quite there yet.
Give me a MACH 1 with a 351 or the 331 5.4L Lightning motor. A T-56 gear box, 3.55's or 3.73's, and a real "FASTBACK". Who cares about the interior? Ooooo, they put new seats and a aluminium shifter beazle....should I be impressed?!? Like I said, they're going in the right direction, but they need to hit the books a bit more. Take a few pages out from John Coletti, and Mr. Shinoda(please, please, please, please, bring back the 429!!!) then ask me what I think.

Didnt you all READ THE PART ABOUT THE 4V COBRA engine?????

Doesnt sound like a rehash to me. I think the color is Grabber Blue, if I'm not mistaken it was offered in 69 and 70.

If I get my full time promotion soon, I'll double up my payments. If I can get my 2000 GT paid off, and the Mach 1 comes out late fall (if at all), I'll keep my 2000 and buy a Mach 1. Make mine Hugger Orange, or Performance Red.

Didnt you all read about the Cobra 4V motor? Saying it will between the price of a GT and Cobra? I'd fork over the dough for that style and the 4V.

Yeah, it needs either forced induction or cubic inches. I like the 4V part, but it should have more. i also think Ford should've made the Mach 1 at least once with every body style

I love it I think it is awesome. I even like the blue although i would deffenetly get one in yellow. That is alot of car with fucninal shaker. U ahve to rember the new cobras are runinng 13.5s with an irs and street tires. I am sure with the live axle some gears, slicks pullies and a couple bolt ons it is any easy 12 second car. Most 60s muscle cars barley ran 13.5s of the showroom floor and those where the big blocks.

Everyone missed the point. I said it was a good start, but the execution was off a bit. I like the 4V engine, but why settle for just a Cobra motor? I'll take a 350hp 351 over a 320hp 4V 281 any day. Just because they slapped some stickers on the thing, doesn't make it a MACH 1, know what I mean? Anyway, I've ranted long enough. For the time being, I'll take it, as long as they keep working on it.

Why doesnt slapping some stickers on make it a Mach one? In 1969 the Standard and common Mach one engien was a 250 HP 351 Windsor. I believe in 1970 the base engine was a anemic 302.

It was mostly just an apperance package then. The thing every one remembers and thinks of when some one mentions MACH 1 is the 428 Record breaking Mach one of 1969. Few were that.

The new package seems to be more performance oriented than the original Mach Series.

At least Ford gives the buyer alot more options. You have The Roush, the Bullit, the Saleen, The GT, stantard 6 cyl, 6 cyl Roush, the Cobra, and hopefully the Mach 1.

Lets see, GM has standard 6 banger, RS, Z28, and SS.

People say "Oh wow look, another special ed. Mustang. There all the same." How many of the above vehicles are actually the same. They all have diffrent engine outputs, and diffrent tunes, diffrent apperances, diffrent interior (well sorta).

I'd be happy with a rockin 281 4V. If Ford says they'll actually make the Mach 1, I'll put my name on the list that day.

Mercury beat me to it again. In 69 the only differnce between the mach 1 and the fastback was a couple of stickers, different taillights, a rear and front spoiler, a clock in the dash board and the fins down the back window. All it ever has been is an apperance package. It had nothing to do with motor. Chase in point I have a R code 428 fastback non mach 1. Besides most mach 1s I ever see are 351s.

Maybe so. Maybe I'm just silly like that, but I want a real muscle car from Ford. One that whipes it's butt with blue bowties every day. Granted, the Cobra motor is a very good engine, but can you honestly tell me that you wouldn't want a 350-400hp N/A 351 or even the 5.4L R motor? Come on, let's get our collective crap together, and get Ford to make us one(well, more than one)!!
