MustangWorks get together!
Me and tireburner were just talking on AOL and thought it would be a great idea to have a HUGE MustangWorks get together sometime. It would be such a blast to meet and hang out with all of the members of this board!
Right away I started thinking of a place to do this. I figure, since Kansas is in the center of the country, it's the fairest place to do it! It wouldn't be fair to us Mid-westerners or Pacific coast people do to it in the east, and vice versa. (Plus Kansas is close to me!) But really, a lot of members are in the southern part of the country, and only a few states away from Kansas, like Texas, and Mississippi for tireburner. Hehe....I'm not forgetting you man! Kansas City, Wichita, Topeka, even places like Oklahoma City, Denver, or St. Louis would work. It would be best to do it in the summer, for obvious reasons. I'd be willing to put my car on a trailer and pull it with my Jeep and head somewhere to meet up with everyone. So, what are the possibilities of this happening? At first I didn't think very good. And I'm still pesimistic. But the more I think about it, the easier it sounds. Anyone else have any thoughts or opinions? And Dan, would you be willing to help coordinate this? |

The chances of it happening are slim, but I'm a hard headed SOB and I would be willing to hop in the Slo Pony and haul my butt up to Kansas. I would be cool to finnaly meet some of you in person. Mercury, PKRWUD, Unit, 1Bad89, Skyman, 6T9 Pony, Topless in Texas, and a lot more. I can see it now, Merc would be the hit of the party, Unit and PKRWUD would be argueing over a tech question and 1Bad89 would be too busy driving people around in his S-10 to do anything else. I think I would be really cool and despite the incredable odds I say we give it a try. As my grandpa once told me "What worse, trying and failing or never trying at all."
Dan what do you think?

I think somewhere in the central part of the country is the only fair place to do it. It's definitely not fair to easterners or westerners to do it on the opposite coast to them. I'd say Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri are our best choices. If this gets enough support then I'll post a poll out of those 3.

That would be sweet to do. Hey us westerners should do a whole big caravan. That would be sweet. Skyman and PKRWUD and whoever else from up there can come down and get me and whoever else in San Diego and then go someplace in the middle of the U.S. Only problem i see is gas money on a 17 year old budget LOL
Later, Nick

I think Kansas City, St. Louis, or Oklahoma City are the 3 best places.
But there is also Topeka, Wichita (both Kansas), Springfield (Missouri), or Tulsa (Oklahoma). Should I make a poll? |

I'll probably make a poll tomorrow, we'll give some other people a chance to reply during the day tomorrow. I want this to happen really bad. And I'll let you all know I'm a very stubborn person and once I get started on something I hate to quit on it. I'm gonna try to see this through all the way, or at least as far as I can!! Even if for some reason I can't go, I'll still help it happen! But you guys better have camcorders there to show me the videos of it!!!!

Sounds great to me. I'd love to meet the people of Mustang works. That would kick mad A$$. Middle America sounds good to me. Though Fayetteville NC sounds like a winner.
It would depend on my work schedule though. Make it during a weekend and I'd probably be able to go. I'd probably get lost as hell though on the way there. WE'd Line em up, and I'd smoke all of you all. |

It would most definitely be on a weekend. That would be about the only way to go. I'm thinking probably in late June throughout July.
Which car would you bring, Merc? The '64 1/2 or the GT? |
