Just curious, how long ago did you drop out? How come you didn't finish High School?

Congrats!

I know some of my friends from out of state call it the "Good Enough Diploma" because you just get a GED certificate, while in Maryland when you pass the GED, you actually get a true high school diploma. What are the laws in your state?

Thanks everyone
Well the reason I dropped out was because my mom and I didn't get alone. To be more exact, we got into physical fights and during months of fighting I would get kicked out multiple times and I would stay with friends that lived far away from my school and they couldn't get me to and from school on time so I decided to drop out.

It was my 2nd month my senior year when I did it and I finally got my GED 10 months after I was supposed to graduate. Which was May of 2001

I am just glad that I finally got it and although I think it is a bunch of crock that you have to have a piece of paper to show how intelligent you are but I was not willing to give up so easy.

Here in MO when you pass the GED test you get a certificate that sys "Certificate Of High School Equivilance"

As of now my mom and I have workes things out and I live with her again dispute free and I am on the path to college and most people dont belive that I had dropped out only a year ago

That is exactly what happened to me. I didn't get along with my parents. We fought alot. I quit school I think 3rd month senior year. I was a year before you, I was supposed to graduate may of 2000. But I quit and moved out and didn't go back for my GED for about a year.

I definitely feel you on the whole "crock" thing. The peice of paper meant even less to me. I didn't even study for the test and past with flying colors. I was usually the 'brain' in class. Its too bad I wasn't smart enough to stay in school.

But anyways I know you are happy to put it behind you and move on. Congratulations and good luck with college.
