YOu might have too much HP if....

YOU MIGHT HAVE TOO MUCH HORSEPOWER IF ...

1. The emissions test guy starts laughing as soon as you pull onto the
rollers.
2. You can't drive your car in the rain.
3. Your 'significant other' is afraid to drive your car.
4. You are afraid to drive your car.
5. You spend more on tires than on food.
6. You spend more on car insurance than on house payments.
7. You look in a state police car and see a picture of your car taped to the
dash.
8. You throw your underwear in the garbage rather than the hamper.
9. You have to go to the track to buy gas.
10. Your mechanic names the new wing of his shop after you.
11. Jacques Villeneuve and Michael Schumacher wave you by.
12. You can make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.
13. You're tempted to wear your fire suit just to drive to the office.
14. Red signal lights shift to green as you're approaching then shift back
to red as you're receding.
15. You arrive somewhere before you left.
16. You get pulled over for doing 155 in a 35 but the cops will let you go
if "they can look under the hood."
17. You remove the $2000 stereo system to save 6 lb. of weight.
18. You are not allowed to run in the Silver State Challenge.
19. You get an anonymous phone call asking if you are interested in being in
the Cannonball Run.
20. Your face looks like you are riding a NASA centrifuge when you drive the
car.
22. You need parachute braking.
23. Your 'significant other' won't even ride in the car.
24. There is no possible way to "sneak out" of your neighborhood at 6 am.
25. Your pets scramble for their hiding spots as soon as the garage door is
opened. (Pets, and all the neighbors...)
26. Family photos throughout the house are replaced with life-sized posters
of your car.
27. Fuel is delivered to your home: in 55 gallon drums!
28. You carry earplugs in your car.(doesn't everybody???)
29. The only spot on the car which receives any regular cleaning is the
windshield. (what else is there to clean???)
30. You find out that side mirrors don't hold up at speeds exceeding 145
mph.
31. Young children cling to their mommies in fear when you round the corner.

32. Birds fall out of their nests from the rumble of your 5" dual exhaust.
33. All the major Tire makers are sending you free slicks in hopes of
endorsment deal.
34. The UPS guy took to taking Steroids so he could keep up with your
shipments.
35. The Fed Ex guy had a nervous breakdown.
36. All the wildlife within a 800ft radius around your house got the
HELLOUT.
37. The nearest Geological Seismic Surveying Station Operator knows your
address by heart.
38. A booming voice greets potential passengers with, "That's right ....you
paid for the whole seat but you'll only need the EDGE.
39. The earth slows in rotation when you hook up on your new slicks and head
east.
40. You have to screw your slicks to the wheels.
41. Your exhaust pipes are larger in diameter than your driveline.
42. Your fuel pump flows enough to water a golf course.
43. Your compression's high enough you could run diesel fuel.
44. The sparks from your wheelie bars start grass fires on the side of the
road.
45. Your engine idles at 2800 rpm.
46. You measure the fuel you use in "gallons per mile."

lmao somebody must have been spying on me :)

The Deuce 09-30-2002 06:27 PM

I got about halfway down and started thinking, "Man, this sounds like Eric's car."

:D

jj_jonathon 09-30-2002 07:02 PM

i was assuming that youd say "NEVER!"...but good ones...esp. the rain one...no tred, 1st gear, and the torque on a 90GT makes it nearly impossible to take off without losing your rearend :D

MidNiteBlu 5.0 09-30-2002 07:20 PM

Does sound alot like erics car...:D :D :D

Very Good!

Later,
Nick

Eric4Nitrous 09-30-2002 08:33 PM

Does this mean i have too much hp?

Of course not. Well, Ralph Nader might have a problem with it.

Eric4Nitrous 09-30-2002 08:52 PM

lmao too funny Duece. Heard anymore from Karen lately??

The Deuce 10-01-2002 12:15 AM

No, I haven't. I think I may call her shop (well try to anyway) and see if she is around. It's really strange, if you ask me.

Eric4Nitrous 10-01-2002 09:31 AM

I swear she's not in my trunk :)

1969Mach1 10-01-2002 09:48 AM

hahaha.. lol I love that list. =) I will have to work my way threw it. I only qualify for a few of those, like the rain one and my ex hated riding in my car. :D I never back down from a ricer and she was afraid of going fast..... maybe that's why she's my ex. lol  lol :D

I still havn't heard from Karen either, I havn't been on MSN much, or here to say none the less. Let me know if you hear from her.

¡ìam.

Eric4Nitrous 10-01-2002 09:55 AM

at least you can get girls to ride with you. I give them money and they still don't wanna ride  Maybe they don't like the idea of sitting on top of my nitrous bottles?? I could always tell them, they could be my bottle warmer :D

1969Mach1 10-01-2002 10:02 AM

hahaha... lol =) Ohh.. the woman love my car, and love going for a ride. :D They just don't like being thrown back in there seat every light some punk kids try to race me in there Mom's Saturn. :D I'm more controlling when I have a girl in my car though, and I make sure everyone is fine with dieing at a young age as soon as they get in my car. I honestly ask anyone that rides in my car if there afraid of dieing. lol Ohh... well. :D

¡ìam.

Eric4Nitrous 10-01-2002 11:08 AM

I ask myself everytime i stage my car if i'm ready to die :) I wonder if god can hear me screaming I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die when i pull the chute hoping it will come out.lol

ultraflo 10-01-2002 09:18 PM

LOL... I was under the impression that you could NEVER have too much horsepower :D

Eric4Nitrous 10-01-2002 09:26 PM

I thought that too until i nailed the throttle :)

ultraflo 10-01-2002 09:29 PM

Well... if you need anyone to drive your beast for you, then I'm available ;)

10's have gotten awfully boring here lately... :D

Eric4Nitrous 10-01-2002 09:51 PM

I'll need to see your NHRA competition license :) and a deposit would be nice too.lol

ultraflo 10-02-2002 09:05 AM

...what better vehicle to get certified in than yours! Don't you have to get one for 9's??? If that's the case, then I better wait until spring '03 ;)

Deposit? I'll deposit some race gas in your fuel cell??? LOL :D

I know how nice it would be to stand along side your very own ride and watch someone launch it for you and make their way down the 1320.... but you prolly feel like I do, that is, no one drives my car but ME! Thanks for the offer though... wait, uh... nevermind? :D

Eric4Nitrous 10-02-2002 09:09 AM

Yeah if you go 9's you'll need a NHRA license. :) I'd let you drive it. It's not really hard to drive at all. Plus it would be some good experience for you. :)

ultraflo 10-02-2002 09:15 AM

After watching some of the pro cars go down the 1/4... not exactly straight ...I'm not sure I could just hop in and give 'er hell. Doesn't mean I wouldn't try it though :D

How's that monster handle on the big end?

...I need all the experience I can get ;)

Not hard to drive? Maybe if u've gone through NASA's G testing! ****, I'd be lucky to even see the first time, let alone drive!

I too was think about u eric when I first was reading this:D

Hell, let me drive, the 10's arn't boring for me, it's the low 15's to high 14's that are boring for me:D

I have no idea what my car will run when it's done, but I was thinking low 14's, at the most, high 13's. But it's not going to be a race car, plus, I'm just going to sell it, but it will last a long time!

Eric4Nitrous 10-02-2002 12:52 PM

The car handles really well on the big end. It goes straight as an arrow down the track unless it blows the tires off. But normally it's really straight and extremely smooth for a tube chassis car.

ultraflo 10-02-2002 01:08 PM

Straight as an arrow... in a 1/4 mile? Why, I, er you;) shouldn't have any problems driving it then... :D Who built the chassis?

Why are you so gun shy about posting a pic, btw? No big deal... but I'm a sucker for wheels-up shots of anyone's ride! Not that pro cars do big wheelies...

Got any 6.5x @ 215+ passes under your belt? Hot damn!!! I yearn for a 9.50 timeslip... 6.50's are just INSANE!!!!!!!!

GOD SPEED

Eric4Nitrous 10-02-2002 05:15 PM

I'm not gunshy about posting pics of my ride. Maybe someday :) The overall car itself was originally built by Jerry Haas. But, i had it updated with a sleeker front end and a double tube-chassis pro-mod style front end. And Keith "The Real Slimshady" Engling done that. :) I also have to thank Tim Matherly from MV Performance for setting up the rearend. The car hardly lifts the front wheels now on launch. It bows up hard but stays on the ground.

LOL! ...cool, I saw him at the Pro event @ Cordova. He was helping out a guy with a flamed fox-body coupe... Glidden was there too. That was my first time seeing those 'celebrities' of the Mustang Drag Racing community in person... I don't get out much other than to Cordova (Gateway once, for a TnT session)... it's my 'home' track... What track do you run your GT at, btw?

Keith is one slim guy... kinda hard not to respect him though, right? He's only one of the best chassis guys in the country at the moment...

Eric4Nitrous 10-02-2002 05:35 PM

I don't run my car at alot of 1/4 mile tracks but when i do It's Rockingham. Keith is very well respected in the mustang community as far as building chassis. He's prolly one of the best in the business as of right now. If you see Billy at a track don't be shy to go up to him and talk. Him and Shannon are good people and have done alot for me. :)

ultraflo 10-02-2002 05:42 PM

Glidden is like a Superhero in my book, the guy is just simply amazing!!!!! A living legend, if you will...

L8R! :)

Eric4Nitrous 10-02-2002 06:51 PM

Good thing for the both of us..i know him personally :)

ultraflo 10-02-2002 10:22 PM

...yeah, I remember seeing in your sig that you run a Glidden built mill, awhile back anyhow... It's kinda hard to miss stuff like that :)

Eric4Nitrous 10-02-2002 10:25 PM

He also built the motor in my lawnmower. It's the world's fastest lawnmower on alky :)

ultraflo 10-03-2002 11:28 AM

Do you know anything about the Toyota, I believe, that Glidden built??? Read something about it in The Fastest Street Car rag.

I've seen some of those lawn mower races... looks like fun! They get just a little carried away though... :D

Eric4Nitrous 10-03-2002 12:19 PM

Nah Billy never built no toyota. he was asked by toyota to build a NIRA motor for them but he gladly told them no thanks.

ultraflo 10-03-2002 01:21 PM

Eric, you might want to ask Bill about that yourself... and let me know what he has to say about it.

Fastest Street Car Mag. Interview, Nov. 02, Vol. 2, Issue 11, pg. 51

FSC: A lot of folks associate you with Pro Stock, and then your Super Street and Pro 5.0 career. But you've done a lot more in racing than that, haven't you?

Glidden: "Oh yeah, from Winston Cup to Junior Dragsters. Hell, I even did a four-cylinder Toyota."

Eric4Nitrous 10-03-2002 02:04 PM

Well maybe, he did :) To the best of my knowledge i never had any reckoletion of him building a toyota. But i guess i was wrong. I know he was telling me a while back that Toyota did indeed ask him to build a NIRA spec motor for them and he turned them down. So my apologies.

ultraflo 10-03-2002 02:21 PM

Not a problem :) ...I'm glad he isn't too involved with the imports, that's all we need is some Glidden built/tuned, nitrous injected 4 pots! Anything he's involved with, even remotely, seems to be a rocket ship (you're a fine example of that sir)....

Think he'll ever give up the specs on his infamous duct-tape plate?

NAAAAAH!!!!!!!:D

Are you using any of the Glidden/Edelbrock nozzles, btw??? Or are you still w/ NOS... you should maybe try an NX system someday ;)

:D no?

Eric4Nitrous 10-03-2002 02:35 PM

I am indeed using the Glidden/Edelbrock nozzles. I'm using the New Edlebrock fogger system currently working on tuning in three stages without hurting the motor. So far it seems to be working quite well. And as the duct plate special goes.....

FORGET IT :D

ultraflo 10-03-2002 03:48 PM

Fuggetaboutit!!!!! ...I should know better :D

Eric4Nitrous 10-03-2002 05:14 PM

If i told you, Billy would have to kill me....then YOU

ultraflo 10-03-2002 06:39 PM

That is a risk I am willing to take.

Now... about that nitrous plate.... :D

Just saw Kevin Price's ride btw.... I like it... I like it alot!
