Default Your `Slang` words...

Speaking of winter projects, thought it might be interesting to here some "slang" words from across the nation. Aside from the usual words heard in rap songs like 'G', 'B', 'Yo', 'Strapped', etc... I've got a small list of words I've heard all or most of my life. Here in Alabama we use a lot of slang!

What's some words that you guys (gals too!) use or have heard?

Here's the beginning of my list. I'm sure I could think of 100 more but for now:

* Wally World: A slang term for retail giant Walmart.

* K-Town: A slang term for retail chain Kmart.

* Targe': (pronounced tar'shay) A slang term for retail chain Target.

* Burger Smack: Slang term for Burger King.

* Choke & Puke: Slang for any small, cheap restaraunt or burger place. Made famous in the movie "Smokey and the Bandit" or one of it's sequals.

* Taco Death/ Taco Hell: Slang for Taco Bell restaraunts.

* Irk: To annoy. ie "That guy really irks me."

* Swirving: (Heard an Indiana Guy use this one) Drunk; To be intoxicated. ie "I'm swirving! I shouldn't have had that last drink!"

* Scroggins: (Heard an Indiana Guy use this one also! My favorite!) Guy/Girl relations. ie "Those two are scroggins- they're at it again!" or "I'm gettin' scroggins tonight!!!"

* Scrap/ Scrapping: To fight or fighting. Ryhmes with wrap.

* Floated: An empty keg

* GI Joe!: Look outside and see if the cops are here.

* Tig Ole Bitties: Word play for describing the chest area.

*Turtlehead or Prairie Dog: Ummm just know that's slang. This is a public board you know.

* GonnaSephaHerpalAids: (pronounced Gonna'Sefa'Herpul'Aids) To be sick. A girl/guy that gets around might have GonnaSephaHerpalAids, or everything.

I hope at least a couple of these are Alabama specific- I could name a few real Alabama specific words, but for now...

Peace and Merry Christmas!!!
JayCee

"Sit n' Wait" for Steak & Shake....there's one just south of my parents' house where it can take about half an hour just to get your drinks.

"F- my/your couch" from Dave Chapelle, for when you just don't care while breaking or trashing something that belongs to a friend.

One more for Taco Bell: TOXIC HELL!!!

"Pop" for 'soda'...I guess maybe one day the rest of the nation will catch on. Hehehe

Ahhh! "Pop"

My aunt was from "up North" and she would say that all of the time...
So here is another one:

"Coke": Any carbonated beverage no matter what it is.

Oh yeah- my redneck cousins call a Pop or a Coke a "Coldrank"

That's so hilarious to here them ask me if I "wanna coldrank?"

Prosti-Tot... I'm gonna introduce that one down here! LOL We don't have Shake n Bakes or whatever they are though- sweet those are funny

These are the latest slang terms. Do not attempt to use these without practicing them first.

"Jive turkey!" - stupid motha uffa

"Slap me some skin!" - give me 5

"On the backhand side..." - see "slap me some skin"

"Fresh" - cool

"Def" - see "Fresh"

Yeah, I'm cool.

Steak N Bacon -- Steak n Shake (I want a Sonic around here dammit. Have to see the commercials all the time, but NO! No Sonic within 1000 miles.)
POP not soda around here too.
cheddar - Money
Beeeyoootch (pronounced "Be Otch" - Self explanitory. Mostly used for rippin on a buddy. "Had ya by 3 car lengths beeeyoootch!"
Diggs - Drag Races!
Hoops - Car wheels
twice pipes - dual exhaust
safety tubes - roll cage
easier to do this one backwards "Nitrous"- Snow, spray, squeeze, giggle gas, drugs, car coke, but NEVER, and I mean NEVER call it "Naus" unless you want an ass whoopin.

I'm gonna start using Gonnasephaherpalaids, and prosti-tot! LMAO Here's some of my favorites from Pittsburgh

Kennywood's open - your fly is down
jag off - jerk
en nat - "and that", "I like to drink Iron City en nat." Or they're favorite fictional clothing store over there, "Pants en Nat".
dahn nare - Anywhere other than where you currently are. "Yeah we're headin dahn nare in a little bit."
like iss - "No you jag off, ya gotta tighten yer lug nuts like iss. They'll come loose if you tighen em like at!"

Oh. Here are a few others that I am exclusively responsible for:

"Wa Sappenin" - What's happening

"Hasta La Vista, baby" - See you later, baby.

(Yeah! Or "later dickwad." And if someone gets upset you say, "chill out"! Or you can do combinations.)

"Chill out, dickwad" - Relax, undesirable person.

BTW, none of this came from any movie you have ever seen.

Alright, now the BIG question! Can you catch GonnaSephaHerpalAids from a prosti-tot that works at Burger Smack? LMAO

This is TOUGH to think of! When it's actually USED, you don't think of it as slang. Have to actually think about it!

A few more I thought of, hope I don't offend anyone here.

Buger Fling - Burger King
Mustang Ranch - Baskin Robbins (31 flavors. Think about it....)

Dunkin' Finger - Well, no polite way to put it. The finger you use for "that".

Ballz deep - Well, again. No polite way to put it.

On a lighter side:
Pansy, Fluff, Cupcake - whimp

Screwed the pooch - REALLY messed up. "Boy I really screwed the pooch when I put the 650 HP jets in my fogger!"

Congratusnadules - Congrats!

Gribble Grab Ass - To mess around, play for adults. "Oh I screwed the pooch that round because Frank forgot to put fuel in my car because he was over there playin Gribble Grab Ass with Tim."

Widget plate - that mysterious part on ALL cars that goes bad. "I dunno what happened, must be the widget plate."

Muffler Bearings - This is a good one. Most commly used when talking to someone that doesn't know shyt about cars. Example:

Loser: "My buddy got a '90 Honda that'll run 9.90's on 2 pounds of boost, cuz he's running "Naus" into the intercooler."

YOU: "That's complete bullshyt, because I know for a fact the 1990 Honda's came with hydraulic muffler bearings, and in order to run "that much" boost, you'd need to recalibrate the widget plate, and switch over to mechanical muffler bearings!!!"

There aren't that many Sonic restaurants in cold-ass Ohio...couple are around Cincy. But there's not ONE in frozen-bawls Michigan. Guess we're on our own in the ol' love glove.

Merry Christmas, BTW.

Fixin to (or fiddna [like I say] depending on how deep south you really are) - about to. ex: I'm fiddna go to the store.

y'all - used when referring to more than one person. ex: y'all gonna be there?

I'll be puckered in puppy sh** - when you are excited to hear some good news. ex: Well I'l lbe puckerd in puppy sh**, I didnt know they still made that.

siiiick - that sucks. ex: when you see your friends woman with another guy, the reaction is "siiiiiiiick". Followed by wh*re, and a few other choice words, then a prompt call to your buddy.

gettin into - doing. ex: whach'all gettin into?
I'm sure I'll think of more later.

How about the terms "salami" and "balony". As in "roast the balonies" (do a burn out) or lets play "hide the salami" (usually played with a girl).

Okay Ohio must have it's own language because I haven't heard half of that. Congratusnadules- is that Greek? lol

Widget plate/muffler bearing- that's good. We use Flux Capacitor.

"Easter Egg" - any car with a bass boat paint job.

"Thingamadohicky" -object

"Thingamadohicle" -object with wheels

"Sombitch" -S.O.B.

"Slower than death eatin' crackers" -my dad's all time favorite. "Son, ur slower than death eatin crackers."

"Fairy" - a sissy

"Whisker Biscuit" - a fairy boy. Also a female part.

"Pooh Bear" -fairy boy.

"Cake boy" -fairy boy.

"Hurri' kin" -hurricane

"sounded like a frieght train" -broadcast on tv everytime there's a tornado

"Getter" - any baseball bat, stick, crowbar, tire iron, pipe that is used to "Get" a person who makes you angry. As in "Hunny, grab my getter stick out a the truck!"

"Squirt" - a kid

"Yankee" - anyone above the Tennessee line. Hey, don't kill the messenger. I don't make these up. But that's what they say. My buddy from North Carolina got mad at someone for calling him that... but I didn't invent the word or it's usage. Not used as much in my city, as we are all educated and most are not from here. (My city has the highest per capita degree in the country and it's in Alabama- funny huh?)

"Garth Brooks" - any guy in cowboy hat. Can also use others like Clint Black.

"Lassie" - any goth person wearing things such as dog collars. (Even though it's hot sometimes)

"Norman Niles Nimrod" - any idiot. Hey! Look at Norman Niles Nimrod over there.

"Igmo" - ig' moe. any idiot. Hey look at that igmo wearing a cowboy hat- Hey Garth!

"Roastin' ears" - any type of corn on the cob

"Honky Tonk" - one of my top 4 most hated words. A country bar where people put on cowboy hats although it's dark outside and they've never seen a horse before in they're life. I believe this is only legal in Texas, where there are still some real cowboys and rodeo stars... not permissable in any other state including mine own.

"Backy" - Chewing tobacco

"Sweet Milk" - you're everyday white milk (My dad said that buttermilk was so popular they had to distinguish between the 2)

"Lucky Charms", "Menutzac" -

"Over the shoulder boulder holder" -bra

"Under the butt nut hut" -underwear

"Switch" - anything used to beat a child... including but not limited to branches, sticks, cat toys- snowball bush branches hurt the most... take my word for it. Basically anything that's thin and flexible and can be used to stop a child from burning down the woods again, or shooting the neighbor's cat and wounding it, or setting the park ditch on fire, or breaking a headlight out playing ninja, or shooting fireworks at moving vehicles, turning the yard into a muddy pit for bicycle racing and taking a year to get the grass back, smarting off to a parental unit, shooting the carport light out with a super soaker while it is on, warping bicycle rims by going "off road", shooting bb gun at anything other than the target box, using water hose as water gun to out do neighbor kid, throwing dirt into little girl's eyes, setting gasoline on fire in driveway just to see if it burns like they say it does, setting telephone pole on fire using toilet paper, bottle rockets and wd 40-or anything else that I'm sorry for and forgot to mention. Whew, sorry I went a little out of the way for that one.

Those are great- I've never heard those before!

"hide the salami" is a great game- just one question...

What in the heck are Bollocks, Chav and Pikey??? When I was delivering parts I had a British guy call me "Wanker" all the time... he also stood 6'4" and had to weigh at least 400lbs. I never once stood up to that guy for fear he'd eat me
