![]() Dan,
I was suprised to see yet another article in 5.0 Mustang about Mustangworks. And to top it off, an award from Car Awards! All I can say is you and yoru moderators have done a great job and a big pat on the back. I still can't believe (I bet you can't either) that my favorite site has gotten national attention on more than 1 occasion. 4 to be exact! ------------------ '94 Cobra 308ci, ported GT-40 heads, Crane 2031 cam .513"/.529" lift 276°/282° duration, 70mm TB, Custom 80mm MAF, JMS chip, Vortech S-trim 8#, MSD, TREX fuel pump, Accel coil, 3.55's, FMS 1 5/8 headers, BBK Offroad H-pipe, and 2-chamber flows. 1994 Mustang Cobra Check out the pics of my Motor Buildup! ![]() Actually, either the site or myself has been at least mentioned in 5.0 Mustang in some fashion five times in the past year and a half, and now a full feature in Muscle Mustangs once. 5.0 Mustang took the reluctant plunge to give us ink along time before anyone else. I think for a long time the print magazines have been skittish about the Internet publishing sites, and didn't really know how to deal with that issue. They were probably wondering if they were a threat to their traditional print business or not. I say not even close. No matter how successful a web site is, it is a whole seperate and different medium. Furthermore, just the huge influx in traffic the site gets when we receive press from any traditional medium (newspaper, magazine, tv, radio) shows me, personally, that they are still firmly seated.
I commend 5.0 Mustang, Jamie Meyer, James Lawrence, and Steve Turner for giving us here at The Mustang Works such great support. And, Jim Campisano too, now that MM&FF finally recognized the breath of our online presence and gave the OK to put some ink our way. My personal feeling is that it is perfectly feasible for this site to be very successful and co-exist happily with the traditional media, but to even work together with the print magazines cooperatively and that it would be very successful. Something I hope can happen in the future. ![]() Btw: you can see all the awards and recognition the site has received here ------------------ Dan McClain, Editor The Mustang Works Online 1991 Mustang GT - 10.90 @ 122 Mph Built, Blown, and Fast as Hell! ![]() Dan I could not agree more. Websites and magazines should co-exist, and HELP each other.
I did not know Mustangworks and you had so many awards and recognitions. Way to go, and keep up the good work. ------------------ '94 Cobra 308ci, ported GT-40 heads, Crane 2031 cam .513"/.529" lift 276°/282° duration, 70mm TB, Custom 80mm MAF, JMS chip, Vortech S-trim 8#, MSD, TREX fuel pump, Accel coil, 3.55's, FMS 1 5/8 headers, BBK Offroad H-pipe, and 2-chamber flows. 1994 Mustang Cobra Check out the pics of my Motor Buildup! |
