Wonderful idea! Is that why you've had the "ip logged" in the corner of our posts, or is that for something else?

No, the IP logging is to identify the Internet address of the person who posted each message. We keep this private, and only moderators or administrators can access this.

I've noticed it dosen't remember me. My IP hasn't changed, in fact it's been static for over 2 months. I posted comments this morning and now 4 hours later it's showing me as a guest. Just wondering if that's how it's supposed to work?

Here's how the system works:

It looks to see if you have your account saved on your browser as a cookie. If you do not, then what it does is label you as a "guest" and track you by IP. The system will remember you for up to 20 minutes without you "doing" anything (i.e. loading the main msgboard page, one of the main forum pages, or posting). At that point you drop off the list of online users.

If you are labeled as a guest, you need to save your account as a cookie on your browser. To do this, go into "preferences" and select "yes, save your account with cookies" and submit the form. Then go into "profile" and submit it, even if you make no changes. Your username and password should now be stored in your browsers cookie file. In addition, you should no longer have to type in your username and password when you post, it will do that automatically. And, finally, you should show up in the online user list with your username. In addition, the new "inbox" private messaging will work without you having to log in.
