You have to cut them out yourself. Cntrl-X... Man.
What I do is open an E-Mail message window in netscape, copy the text in there, edit it down to what I want and also type my reply. Then I use the spell checker (sometimes) on it. Then I cut and past my message back. I don't always do this, but for a longer post I do.
