I went in and set it to store my name and password for a year but when i go to respond to a message i still have to enter it one time. this just happens when i first come here, even if i leave and come back later that day it is ok.

Hmmm. Sounds weird to me. There must be some problem with your browser shutting down properly. The cookie entries should be saved in your cookie file from memory then. If your browser crashes, or for some reason doesn't shut down properly, it may not save them however.

Go into the preference area and select to delete/destory your existing cookies. Then, reset your preferences and submit the form. After this, go into your profile and submit that form (even if you change nothing). After that, shutdown your browser, then restart it and see if it works correctly. If not, somethings going on funky.
