Question Is it me or is MW slower ???

Hey Dan, for about two or three days now it seems like MW has gotten considerably slower. There have been times where I try to get to one of the boards and five minutes will go by before it happens. I asked someone else and they said they too were having problems. I do love this board and being a part of it , and just want to make sure it isn't something on my end.
Take care,
-Chris

No it's nothing on your end.

We are experiencing TREMENDOUS traffic on the site, especially during the mid day hours. During this time the server is so loaded it's starting to have problems. We just upgraded servers less than six months ago too, but traffic continues to increase. We are receiving 300,000 hits a day now. Since a lot of the features on the site are CGI driven, it's putting a huge toll on the CPU. During the mid afternoon, I checked the processes running and there were nearly 100 copies of the message board CGI modules alone running at any given instance! In addition, there were also over 30 child processes of Apache running simultaneously, with each instance handling like 50+ connections (if I remember correctly). And, it was like that for several hours, as I kept monitoring the system. YIKES! Looks like another upgrade will need to be in our not to distant future...

All I can tell you is that I am aware of the problem, and will hopefully come up with a solution soon.

Dan, I understood very little of that, but I do get the point. Thanks for taking the time to let me know that I don't need to shoot my computer after all.
Take care,
-Chris
