You're not going to see much change with the wide ratio kit at highway speeds (as you said). I think the difference in overdrive is only a .70 to .67 change. The wide ratio really affects the first gear 2.40 vs 2.84. That helps on the initial acceleration but also causes a larger drop on the 1-2 shift. If you're really looking for the off-the-line performance enhancement, rear gears are the way to go. For the AODE, I'd go 4.10's absolute minimum, 4.30's being a better choice IMHO.
