Default Rice Hunter ?

Hey I noticed you have an F4 what year, and have you ever taken it to the drag strip? I had a 99 with a Two-Brothers slip on pipe and ran a 10.94 @ 127. Sold it before I could kill myself . One day I would like to get my Cobra running that quick. It's gonna take a lot of $$$$$$$.

Heh. I've currently got a project on the backburner to get my 2000 GT running consistent 10's...but boy, that sucker ain't coming cheap and without a fight. Whew. Have all the parts I want, just need a lot of moolah to get it. Looking at spending another 20k, and I just put about 15k in after work, and new wheels, and such...so...it's going to have to wait, that's all...and I'm going to have to live with it waiting...car needs paint...those of you who own black, know that after 3 years, it's nearing its end of good-lookings. hehe...damn thing shows EVERYTHING!!! still, i'm just asking for it repainting in black again....heh...but other than that, hoping to upgrade the transmission and obtain cams in prep for next year's good comings... if not, well, it can just be mediocre-fast...or at least...seem mediocre-fast til it hits a strip and I find out it's still slow. That would be a crushing blow to my ego........just kidding.

but, by the way, could probably make this car run 10's for much less...but...how many times? once? hehe...if i'm running 10's, it still has to be my daily driver, which means, that motor better be in the best tip-top shape a motor's ever been in...which means, it probably won't be that motor...I'll do it right if I want the car running 10's on a consistent basis...and to do it really right...it's expensive.

I agree 100%. I have made one 10 second pass and it still wasn't cheap. If it were, alot more people would be doing it and that isn't the case. If you want consistent 10s, it will take a built engine, strong driveline, fuel system, tune. suspension & good gas. The thing I like about the turbo system is I can turn it up to 25 psi at the track, add race gas & make low 10/high9 sec passes until they boot me for lack of safety equipment. Then turn it down to 12 psi and drive it home and run it on pump gas. I have a completely built engine & P&P heads coming this week so I guess we want the same things. I was told on the built engine, I will be able to run low 11s on pump gas at 12-14 psi and the engine will probably never break.

Default Sorry, I didn't notice this post!

I'm sorry I didn't reply faster, I didn't even notice, been a little distracted I guess. Unfortunately I haven't taken the bike (99 mustard with the black wings) to the track. I don't know if I will either. The F4's, as you know, have scarey power and I would probably kill myself. I don't even know what to expect from a bike when you drag. What is it like?? Any freaky shakes or shudders? And yes, I would love to get my Cobra in that time area. I'm thinking about TDC stage 2 turbo kit. What do you think? Good to see another F4 rider!!! Wish you were closer, I need someone to ride with.

Turbo99GT,
After I posted that last post, I noticed that you have the exact Turbo kit that I'm looking at. Any pointers? Thanks!

Well with the bike I would launch at 7,000 rpm slip the clutch and then pin the throttle. I would speed shift every gear. And to be honest I felt safer at the track then anywhere else on my bike. There where no shakes or shimmys. It really takes a lot of practice to get that fast, I probably had about 150 runs at the track. It sure was fun though . As far as the turbo goes I think that it's an awsome idea. The last I new of there was only a kit for the 2v. Did they come out with the 4v kit? And how much?
