2001 GT Work

I just bought a used 2001 Mustang GT, my dream Mustang (Sold my 96 GT to some moron Friday who already burned the clutch because he did'nt know how to drive stick)..There are a few things, OK a lot that I want to do to this car (not supercharge it, I'm not talking ground-FX or borla exhaust, the cars' not gonna be raced and I'm not a ghettoed-out 23 year old), but I wanted to put a pro 5.0 power shortshifter in just to keep the gears shifting cleanly so I can save the throwout bearing and the clutch plate as I drive, I was looking to turn the car into a Cobra using parts from the last four years but I already have that covered as to what I need and where I could get them...But does anyone have any feedback or warnings about the 5.0 shortshifter that matches the year of the car?..Is it actually a good idea to put it in? Greg from Suffolk County, Long Island.

have heard nothing but good things about the pro 5.0. i have a steeda tri-ax in my 90 GT, which is a very similiar shifter. i recommend the tri-ax as well, i love it. the spring in it automatically finds 3rd gear, which is great. the only downside is you can hear the tranny a little since the tri-ax does not use any sound dampining rubber like the stock shifter does, but thats why the stock shifter is sloppy. the short throws greatly outweighs the little bit of tranny noise IMO

Yes I to have heard nothing but good things about the PRO 5.0 shifter. I have a 92 LX and going to be putting one in there soon. Real easy to install to from the pics I seen and read.

i agree with everyone and that the pro 5.0 shifter is great and i have never heard otherwise...
