Post Rims & Tires on a 1966 Mustang????

What size tires and rims can I fit on a 1966 Mustang? I'm looking for rims in the 15" tall range. What width works best without hitting sheet metal or suspension components? Which back spacing is best?

What about tires? What sizes work?

Thaks in advance!

Try this site for wheels. They have a good fitment guide when it is working. My opinion, you can't go wrong with a set of Torq-Thrust D's.

I had 15 x 7 Torqthrust D with a 4" backspace before I went to 17 x 8 with 4 3/4 backspace.

Do you have the Torq II's all around or just in back, and what size tires did you get to fit? I've got D's 15x7 in back with 255 60, and 15x6 with 215 60 in front. The back tires rub over big bumps.

I have 17x8's all the way around. I have 235/45's up front and 245/45 in the rear. I trimmed the lip on the rear just to be sure when I went to the 17's. I do have a pretty stiff suspension set up with 5 leaf mid eye springs, TCP subframes, and under rider traction bars.

You have a setup very similar to mine. Did you have any problems in the front like rubbing the fender or rolling the lip. What front springs do you have, giving you what kind of ride height. Do you know the backspacing on your wheels?

I don't have any rubbing probs up front. I have the 620 lowering springs(1"), thick insulators, KYB shocks, BAER bump steer kit, and I did the Shelby control arm relocation(lowered it nother 1/2"). I am going to trim the front lips just to be on the safe side, but I haven't had any rubbing yet.
