Default 4.6L Upgrades

I was wondering what were some basic upgrades were for my 98' GT. I was thinking about converting to a 3.73 gear ratio, but was wondering what some other useful ups were (besides K & N, underdrive pullies, and flowmaster exhausts). I was also wondering if any of you knew a good place to get my gears changed in the Atlanta, Georgia area (besides Dugans) that do a good job.

If i were you, i would stay with the 3.73's for a 5sp, or 4.10 for an Auto. Instead of getting the basic bolt on's. Get the PI 99+ GT cylinder heads, and maybe an intake. Once you have all this done, and you have plenty of cash flow left. Then go with the throttle body, maf,Pullies,headers,O/R H/X pipe. Then if you are still greedy, strap on a power adder. However with mods to that engine, it will affect the handling, so you may have to spend money to compensate for it. No sense in having the power, if you can't get it to the ground.

I'd start with a head swap, then do either karkraft ram air or bullitt intake. follow with gears and then pulleys. then header/x/exhaust. if more still then it is time for nitrous or FI.

I would recommend using the Search feature on this board to search through the records... No offense to you, being a new guy.. I was once new as well, but; the moderators don't like the same old questions "First Upgrades" to be asked over and over... Trust me, there is a lot of info in the search area to to be read, this topic has been covered time and time again in here...

My first upgrades were, chip, exhaust, CAI.... Good luck on your stang... (98 GT - Auto)
