Cool Rack and pinion SHORT question.

Is it to much to tackle by myself to put another factory rack and pinion on the car just to replace the old one? its a 89 GT. God speed thanks.

It's real easy if you rent a Tie Rod End Puller from AutoZone or buy one from somewhere. It looks like this:

are you paying alot?? I would do the manual rack if you are paying full price. Not hard to drive at all, and drop lots o' poundage from the front end.

I'd guess that you'd take off about 40lbs and the rack is $114 at Autozone.

You know the little metal part that clamps onto the shaft coming out of the rack? You'll need to replace the lower half of the rag joint too.
