Default 20hp for $2.00???

Forgive me everyone. As you can tell I am new to the board, and fairly new to performance upgrades. So bare with me through this thread. I appreciate any help. I was just on e-bay motors and this guy is selling what he claims is an alternative to a "jet" chip. From what I can tell he is piggybacking a resistor on a harness to trick the ECU into thinking it is not getting enough air or something like that. Here is a quote from the ad.

"
By tricking the computer, we are able to make the reading of the computer shift to the right in the table, which will make it think it is under heavier load and increase the power. You have the proof right there! You can either buy an eprom chip, as explained further up or even get a bigger system that will control your engine, or you can simply keep that hard earned money and install this little device. You have nothing to lose!

QUICK FACTS:

THIS IS A RESISTOR

THIS WILL NOT HURT YOUR CAR IN ANY WAY

ALL YOU DO IS INSTALL IT IN YOUR IAT SENSOR!

"
Item number: 7960048483

Any Ideas.

What it does is make the computer think it's really cold outside and bump the timing and pull a little fuel. You could buy the resistor at Radio Shack for $0.50 if you know what you're looking for.
