3.73 Gear - Speedometer calibration

I just bought the 3.73 for my 98 GT. My question is that.... Doesn't it require speedometer calibration? Where do I get the gear for trans.? How much is this? and Where did you get it?

I'd appreciate all the help I can get on this.

Thanks
Steve

You can get a 23-tooth white speedo gear for about $20 from Steeda or Mustangs Unlimited.
The gear will get chewed up and eventually need replaced, plus at 100 mph, your speedo will be about 3 mph off.

The more permanent and accurate, yet expensive, method is to use an electronic speed calibrator. Dallas Mustangs sells one for $90, and so does Abbott for $145, http://www.abbott-tach.com/era.htm .
I have the abbott. It's easy to hook up, and make minor adjustments if you change gears again or tire size.
Another alternative is to get a custom chip burned.

Good luck!

Travis,
Thank you for the info.
I don't imagine it is difficult to install.
