Post 4.6 Headers Advice

How, exactly, do you remove and install the exhaust headers? I've heard something about jacking up the engine on one side. Which side? Where do you place the jack?

I know that Bassani is excellent but are there any other good quality headers that you would recommend for the 4.6? I don't want to have to spend an arm and a leg for these things. I do need some better exhaust flow, though. I'm needing torque. As you know the 4.6 needs it bad down low. Is there a budget-minded exhaust combo out there that will produce good results? I'm not looking for loud sound, I'm needing performance with a budget in mind. I'm still in college.

If more low end torque is what you are looking for, then headers are probably not the solution for you. Long tubes will definitely kill your low end, but even shorties on a stock motor probably won't boost low end much if at all.
I would recommend gears to get you into your powerband quicker.

Cool

Actually, long tube hedders increase torque down low, shorties increase up higher. For reference you can go to www.dynomax.com/ and look in the headers section. You increase the length of the primary tubes to increase low end torque. I've been thinking about some long tubes and was wondering if there were any other 4.6 owners running these and what they thought of them. I've talked to one that loves them. Anyone else running them? BTW, I already have 3.73s. Read my sig for more.

I'm going with the BBK LT's once my tax returns arrive... To me they're the best header/exhaust combo you can buy.. great low end and good up top as well...
