Default 96-98 Cobra guys get in here...

My car feels like there is a tremendous drag on it. I can't tell if it's coming from the engine or the rest of the drivetrain. I did a compression test and the engine is strong but the car feels like it is riding with one brake on at all times. It used to rev so much cleaner and easier before??

I need to get some info to compare with you guys with 3.73 gears. I just checked and the car is at 3400rpm at 50mph in 3rd gear. At 60mph, the rpm's are at 4000 in 3rd. Does this match up with what you guys have?

The other unbelievable pita is the car has a vibration through the shifter ever since I dropped the K-member. I have tried loosening and tightening but I can't get the thing to pivot around the one bolt like I was told to do. Anyone with a clue here?

Lance

Cool

As far as the vibration did you ever have the driveshaft off? If so you may have put it on wrong and it's off balance which is creating the vibration. Take it off the pinion yoke, twist it over about 90 degrees, and reinstall the bolts. The shaft is balanced from the factory a certain way and if you don't mark the way it was on there from the factory and you reinstall it differently then it'll be out of balance. Hope this helps.

As far as the motor, how's your spark plugs and wires? Checked your plug gap lately? Maybe the plugs and/or wires are bad. It's a place to start anyways.

Cool

Ok, never mind the driveshaft post. You've got an aftermarket one already.
