Default Problem with 302..

What would cause a 302 to fire up and run for about 10-30 seconds then as the rpm's fall to catch the idle the truck dies... Just like someone turned off the key..

New items already installed:
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Fuel pressure regulator
Fuel filter

Thanks for any help..

Derek

can you keep it running if you hold it at an RPM above idle?

Also, do you have a fuel pressure gage?

If I keep my foot on the gas and hold it at 1K RPM's it will stay running all day long. As soon as it gets below that its like someone just killed the power.

yes it is. just take it off and clean it with carb cleaner

I'd also suggest checking the timing just to rule out one more thing.
