Post 99+ GT's?

I need opinions guys. I'm trying to decide if these cars are worth buying. I just recently lost my final 2 pts on my license so insurance might be a little more bearable. I'm 20. Are these cars worth the cash? I currently own a 90 GT and have had an 87 LX as well. I was extremely happy with both of the 5.0s but I'd like to step up to something a little more technologically advanced. As well as something that noones owned. I'm hoping they're as receptive to mods as the 5.0s are. Thanks.

Well, I love my car, and I just wish I had more cash for mods. If you could afford to get a new GT, and still have some cash for mods, Id say do it.
If I could do it over, Id take the money I spent on this car, and put it into an older fox body, but Im sure if I had bought an LX instead, Id be wishing for a new GT; that's always the way it is. You, however, have already had fun with the older stangs, so Id say to go for it, and get a new stang.

You've got a good point though and its something I've been thinking about. For the money I spend on a 99+ GT I could make this 90 smoke just about any car on the road. But I dunno if thats what I really want. I'd love to own a new car that hasn't been molested by any other person, but like you also said. The grass is always greener on the other side. I've found a lot of cars in my area for around 18-19k with less than 10k miles on it. Basically the plans for the car would be a Saleen body kit, they just look badass, a gear, and a blower... Would hope that could get the car into the low 12's. I'm rambling, guess I just need to go test drive one to be sure. Thanks for the info.

Cool

If you test drive the car you need to turn some RPM. the power only starts at 4000.
I have owned mustangs of all generations.
The new cars are the best yet IMHO. Fox bodys can't compare.

Blower and gears on a 99+ Gt can get you into the High to Mid 11's.

Mustang and Fast Fords had a Charged GT shoot out, and a few of them with stock internals and stock intakes with the proper rate injector ran Mid 11's. I cant remember what the exact number was, but a few also belted out like 375+ rear wheel horsepower.

If you can get a GT for as little as I got my 2000 GT for you can throw a few Mods (supercharger, inj, gears) on it and still be under the price of a new fairly optioned Z28.

Tough decision here. Go fast as hell in a decent looking car. Or look really good and go pretty fast... All considerations I'm gonna take in before ordering the parts for my 90's new engine. Thanks for the input guys.

I think it all comes down to how much you love your 5.0.
Personally, I love the 99+ GT's as much as I love the Fox bodies.
The style is just so muscular looking, and the power is there too. I am sure you've seen and heard how the power just flows out of them too w/ a power adder. Of course it handles and brakes much better then the older foxes too.
If you want something newer, you can't go wrong.

Thumbs up

I would go with the 99+ gt. I just bought a stock fox 5.0 to be my daily driver till I can afford a 2001 gt. They just look wicked and a blower really livens them up!
