Default check engine light

Do anyone know how to reset or turn or the check engine light. I was changing out the hose on my heater core and had to take a bracket a loose. The bracket was connected to one of the header bolts in the process of take the bolt off I cracked the spark plug with the rachet. I did not know that until i was going down the road and the light came on. I pulled over and checked everything that I took aloose and found out the spark plug was cracked. REplaced the spark plugs and light is still on. Need help turning the light off.

Disconnect the negative battery cable, THEN turn on the headlight switch for ten minutes. Turn the switch off, and reconnect the battery. If the MIL comes back on, you have other issues, and need to have the codes pulled.

Take care,
-Chris

While were on the subject of the check engine light, if the o2 sensors are bad on a 90 gt, will that throw on the light?

Isn't the way to reset the computer to turn off but to remove codes is to remove the jumper wire after you start to do a EEC test?

You can also touch the pos. and neg. battery cables together, but it's not recommended.

Take care,
