Default Adjusting the TPS Sensor??

Does anyone know how to adjust the throtttle postion sensor on a 1997 GT??? Let me know.

I'm not sure on a 4.6L. But don't get disilluioned about the adjustability of a TPS. You don't just turn a screw or somthing to adjust them. You have to bore out the screw holes and physically move the whole TPS housing to change it's setting. It is not that easy.

Basically you should be .90 to .99 Volts on your TPS as long as you are in that range (at idle) you're fine (4.6 or 5.0).

actually on the 5.0 it was realy easy to do and no you didn`t have to bore out the holes there was enough play to adjust properly what you would do is back probe the tps sensor and the wot voltage with the key in the on position should have been as close to 1 as possible preferably .98 or .99 then you would tighten down the sensor, this would let the eec know when wot was wot and not fully open. i would think you could do this on a 4.6 to make sure you are actualy sending wot to the computer
