For 96-98 GT's 3.73's are a sufficient gear. For 99+ GT's, 4.10's are a much more efficient gear than 3.73's.

I had 5:13's in my 69 Chevelle....Great gear for the square port 396 Rat motor...
Funny how some are weary of anything over 3:73, 4:11's used to be a standard rearend gear prior to 1972....

What was the top-speed of your Chevelle? That's a beast of a car though.

I like the less agressive gears because my stock ones were only 2.73, I have a decent commute, and I would hate having my RPMs at 3k on the highway.

Did you get the kit installed yet? I'm curious about the design and performance. Should I make a trip to Lowe's?
