AOD Transmission Pan w/Drain Plug?
 

Hi,
New to form and have a question which probably has been asked many times. OK. I would like to have a drain plug in my trans. 1992 GT Conv. with the stock AOD Trans. Has anyone installed a drain plug, aftermarket? If so with what results? I hear that the Chrome pans with the drain plug leak due to slick chrome finish, gasket slipping. I do not need this or really want a Chrome pan. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Why do you want a drain plug?
Anytime you change the trans fluid, you should replace the filter, which means the pan has to come off anyway.

Don't forget to drain the torque converter when you change the fluid.

I always replace the filters when changing fluid. I want the drain plug for ease of draining the fluid. To many times when draining the fluid, more fluid is spilled all over than what goes into the drain pan. Pure ease of draining the fluid, then removing the pan with a lot less chance for a big mess.

Yes, it does make a mess at times.
Nothing like hot transmission fluid draining down your armpits... :)

Right on. Hot transmission fluid is not only hard on the arm pits but does not taste very good.
Now back to the subject.
1. Has anyone installed a drain pan plug? If so what mfg. with
what results.
2. Do you know of a mfg. of a std. steel pan who sells one?
with a drain plug already installed. (No chrome or Alum.)
