Question MAC cat back system any good??

I just got in my year one next generation catalog and was drooling over all the cool stuff. I noticed the MAC 2.5" cat back system with chrome tailpipes for $265, the flowmaster american thunder with SS tailpipes in 2.5" is $295 in summit or Jegs. I keep hearing the MAC name throughout this site, so I was wondering if some of you guys are running this in their car any feedback re noise fit and quality would be appreciated.

Cool

I love my MAC system! I got rid of the Flowmaster sytem because it rusted and fit like crap, the tail pipes rattled all the time. My MAC system fits nice and tight, and tucks up for more ground clearance it has a nice throaty roar to it, and at WOT it screams. SOme people have had problems with the MAC Hi-Temp coating but mine has lasted very well.

I also love my MAC catback system...I had the flowmasters at one time too, the MAC's sound better and fit better. They have an adjustable connection just over the rear end that allows for easy install and easy fine tune adjustments for better fit.

Thumbs up

Cool, three happy customers so far
I really liked the Idea of the 2 piece tailpipes, so the chrome section could be removed and poished if wanted, or could replace the forward section if rotted out later on. All the MAC stuff looked awesome in the catalog, Eventually I'll replace the entire system from the heads back, so will go All MAC, next wonder, shorties or long tubes

Another vote for MAC. I debated over this for a looong time. MAC sounds better. Deeper, meaner, and plain ol' bad-*** . With a h-pipe, wow.... it screams. Go with MAC.

I'm gonna go MAC (from stock) pretty soon, cause of all the good stuff I hear and the fact that they can cover the whole exhaust. Go long tubes, little bit more power, with the MAC high flow H-pipe.

I've got the MAC 1" 5/8 primay equal length headers, MAC X-Pipe and MAC 2 "1/2 Cat-Back. The car sounds AWESOME. The mufflers are tucked up nice for ground clearance and you can't even see them from behind the car. I've got wide 275 tires out back so the two piece tail pipe works perfect for adjustment purposes.

Where can I get this catalog. It looks like the MAC system is the best on the market from reading these messages. I would like to an all aftermarket system on my car and it sounds like I need to go with MAC.

I don't know where you can get that catalog but Modern Mustang has a large inventory of MAC products and they are nice guys to deal with.

Go to www.yearone.com
Sign up for the Next Generation catalog this covers 79 - 2001 Mustangs. They have lots of great parts and prices for at least the things I can find elsewhere are really good. All of the MAC exhaust parts have excellent pictures to drool over, they have FMS Flotech and others as well. All you guys gotta get that catalog, I got mine in about 2 weeks or so.

I am ordering my kit tomorrow. Because of the adjustable portion you can have LX pipes on a GT.

My MAC catback was easy to install, but afte having it on the car for 3 years now, 2 Canadian winters, they are starting to rust a little, and the tailpipes rattle like crazy, even after adjusting them over and over.
