Batt Charge Guage

Well if the oil guage is not real, then how bout the Batt charge?
I have a radar detector and it stays on even if the car is off... so I had been worried about it draining the batt so I used to cut it off. But after forgetting a couple of times I noticed that the batt is staying in the same place so I've just started leaving it on.

Is this a false gauge or is the radar detector just not draining any juice really?

Re: Battery Charge Guage

Hi Acid,

Yeah; I've been a bit peeved about that one too. (I'm the guy that wrote the oil-pressure guage post...)

Why not stick to the Ammeter guage...What's with "Battery Condition" anyway?
I'd much rather have an ammeter.

I remember renting a Pontiac a couple of years ago and noticing that it had a voltage guage also. But; that's a GM car... :)

Again; I'm wondering if anyone makes a guage upgrade kit that would retain a stock appearance.

this gauge is real. It doesn't move when the car is on if its working right. I forgot to see what year your car is, but chances are the outlet isn't live when the cars off.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll let you know of any guage kits that I run accross *stock looking of course*
