Default bbk longtube headers

Hey guys I just got a good deal on some brandnew bbk longtube headers ceramic's for $360. I have a 96 mustang gt and I have to install these. But everyone is telling me I have to drop my tranny. and remove my steering linkage and saying It is going to be a 8 hr. project. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for installation by myself and a friend or if it would just be easier to go to the local muffler man and have them install the whole exhaust.

thanks,
Monroe GT
