you will def. Notice a boost in your acceleration and torque. Like i said it gives you 5-10 horses. some other time down the line you can buy a asp water pump pulley (you can get them for like 20 bucks shipping usually..) and get a better boost, but only by 2 horses.. But its better than nothing. Now its gonna take alot of parts and money to get ur stang really fast but if ur 3.8 is stock then u will notice the power that a underdrive pulley gives u

One thing to know about underdrive pulleys. Underdrive crank pulleys do not have harmonic dampners, which is what you replace when you put it on. there relaly isnt any danger but its something worth knowing.

They are for street racing, track use, anything. They are simple underdrive pulleys.
They Merly give your car more HP and torque and it is very noticable, from driving a stock car and adding pulleys. They increase ur accelartion. Its not a miricle thing or anyhting to get ur car to haul ***, you really need to invest a **** load of money, porting and polishing intakes, forced intake, cai, exhaust. But if u want your car to haul is..... everyone starts with new pulleys. Its an essential.

about what you said.

That isnt true. THese pulleys are for a 94-98 mustang. THey do not change the harmoic dampner. That is for the 99+ boyz.
But even if you do there isnt any harm there.
Infact installation with the harmonic damper really isnt difficult.
But installation on these years is easier.

Got a question about anything, installation the pulleys whatever
go head and email me. If ur interested on these pulleys go a head and bid, or email me.
thanks.

TVD...HB it's still alittle mix of vodoo to me...do todays modern engines need this 8+lb of rotational mass to slow the spooling of the engine or is a tortional vibration damper an essential process required to keep resonance from tearing the bearings apart in the bottom end? let;s ask mr owl
or harmonic balancer ,is it just to reduce engine noise from making its way into the cabin...the world may never know

Harmonic dampers (aka harmonic balancers) are found on all Ford 90 degree V6 and V8 engines, so far as I know. They consist of a two cast iron discs with some kind of elastomer sandwiched between them, and they are mounted on the front end of the crankshaft to dampen or balance out crankshaft vibrations that occur at certain frequencies and rpm's. It suttles out the sound and the cars sound and vibrations inside of the car.

All of our 3.8L V6 engines have a harmonic balancer. On the 94-98 engines, the crank pulley bolts to the front of the harmonic balancer. On 99+ cars, Ford made the harmonic balancer and crank pulley one piece.

So. if you put an underdrive pully on a 94-98 car, all you have to do is remove the old crank pulleyand bolt on a new one. To put an underdrive pulleyon a 99+ car, you have to replace both the harmonic balancer and the crank pulley.

UD pulleys reduce the speed of accessories relative to the crankshaft speed. Therefore increasing horsepower, torque and gas mileage, and by turning the accessories slower, extend their life. Some people say that using UD pulleys isnt good for your car cause it takes some power away from your accesories.
Well The amount of power that it absourbes from your accesories really isnt that much. It wont harm your accesories in anyway.
It prolongs the life of them, ask people who have ud pulleys in there car they will tell you the dont see any difference in the way their ac works, heat, power steering, ect.

hope this helps

the gains in an undrive pulley set has very little to do with undriving the accessories and almost all to do with the dramatic weight difference... my crank pulley was 8lbs heavier than the light weight aluminum one i bought and am choosing not to install eventhough it has been dyno proven to provide 10/10 in my car and probablly much much more below where a dyno jet can measure....the concerne is the resonance effet on the crank it self ...skyscrappers use HB/TVD's to diminish harmonics that could literally rip a building to shreds in its absense...if steve saleen came on told me why the absence of the hb/tvd isnt a problem and only really effect cabin noise id be all over it but as it stands the best testiment agaisnt it comes to me from a company called AEM they have this civic draggster running low 8's and it has the o.e. crank pulley...also they make pulleys but not crank pulleys just accessory pulleys

Actually Underdriving the accesories has everythign to do with "underdrive" pulleys....
Its the whole point of it. Yes less weight is a good quality. But think of it this way.
A smaller pulley will take Less revolutions, to crank the crankshaft
THAN a Larger pulley.

Also by that it underdrives other accesories. It "robs"
needed power from accesories that able to speed of the pulley to be faster.
Removing a HB is a bad thing
if you do that your crankshaft life will be diminished they are there for a reason....

about 2% of the gains from the typical UD pulleys are derived from underdriving the accessories the rest come the dramtic decrease in rotational mass...like a light weight fly wheel or light weight wheels...

Will these underdrive my blinkers as well? I'd buy them right now if they came with new muffler berings.
