What are your opinions on the computer upgrades for a 03 GT. DIABlO, Superchips ,etc... (What works the best for the money)

There are other bolt on's that will due more then a chip can for the same money. Wait untill you have some mods under your belt, then get a dyno tune by a reputable tuner. I prefer Fordchip, but other's like Autologic tuners, Steeda, Diablo, etc.

The best thing for you to do would be to go to Fordchip.com and see if they are coming into your town. They do dynotuning sessions. Fordchip has some of the most knowledgable people. If they aren't making their way to your town, you can get a chip off their site for $250 + shipping or something like that.

I think the guy that used the be the most reputible guy in chips that used to do the Autologic chips now works for Fordchip.

What we do

FordChip.com offers custom tuning of any EEC-IV and EEC-V supported vehicle. We offer tuning flexibility that the other guys daydream about. We can also tune the newer non-EEC Ford vehicles.

We can tune 2 ways:

1st is through the mail using a "chip" or relfash your EEC. The other guys use generic "off the shelf" calibrations. The same calibration they give to every other customer with the same car. 2nd is by custom dyno tuning. We travel throughout the US tuning cars during scheduled dyno days. We can come to you. There is no substitute for a skilled dyno tune using a wideband A/F sensor. We can match any MAF to any injector. That means there is no need for getting your MAF re-calibrated for larger injectors. As long as your current MAF has enough range…we can get it right.

Not only can we tune for power…we can also tune for driveability. With complete control of the EEC we can give you a high quality cruise and idle that the other guys struggle with.

Combined we have almost 30 years working at the OEM level. We aren't just guys that work in a speed shop…we actually design and calibrate these vehicles for a living.

I have an "off the shelf" Fordchip in my bolt on Tbird and I can honestly tell you that it is perfect.
My blown Bird was tuned by an Autologic tuner, UPR, and it has a lot of issues with transmission function. The a/f is spot on and the motor makes tons of power, but driveability needs some work. I am going to be getting a Fordchip dyno tune as soon as they come to my area.
Fordchip is by far the best tuner available for tuning AODE/4R70W equiped cars.
If you have a 5spd, I would skip the chip right now. If you have an stock auto, between the timing and tranmission changes alone, you should drop ~3-4 tenths off your 1/4 time.
