Default Can I drop a 5.0L into a 96?

Thinking about an engine swap.... What would it take to throw a 5.0 or a 393 or something of that effect into my 96 GT?

Mounting brackets, new tranny, ???
TIA.

Easy money. The 94-95's come with 5.0's so the parts should be readily available.

I believe there may have been a trans switch, and I know for sure the shifter is in a different location than on the fox cars. Finding that info out, and grabbing a CPU should be your only concerns.

This is all true, but if you have a couple extra dollars...

you can stick with the modular power and either get an overbore kit for the 4.6 or you can wait till 2003 to get a 5.0L cammer engine! ford says it will be a crate engine available in 2003 and good for 420hp or so

I am drooling and waiting
