You have to remember that the Gtech is only going to measure the horsepower coming from the rear wheels, not the horsepower being produced by your engine....

For a 5-speed, there will be about a 15% power loss going through your transmission\driveshft\rear end before you get the power to the ground...

221 hp is about right at the rear wheels...

Plus, while being pretty darn accurate, a gtech is not as accurate as a dyno...
A dynomometer is really the only "true" measure of your car's power...

No offense but G-tech is useless. It's only a rough idea and no where near accurate. If you want a true reading just put it on a dyno.

FWIW...221RWHP/.85 =260FWHP

While it is true that G-Tech does not always give an accurate reading because you have to manually pu tin the weight, which can lead to errors.

However, I've tested the G-Tech against the dyno. It was only 1hp off. Now, this may not be a typical case. But for what it is worth it is pretty close.

But I think where it really comes in handy is that if you measure the HP with G-Tech, and the you put some mods on and test again. Now you are on the equal footing as the first run and can tell if the power did increase or not.

Hope this helps.

You have to dyno that thing! Really 221 hp is about right- you have to take in account that 260hp is whats at the flywheel- not rear wheels. You will lose 15% +/- 3% from flywheel to rear. I had my 2001 GT, when it was stock, dyno at 229hp. I bet if you have it dyno'd you will be close to that. What hp a car is advertised is always at the flywheel.
