Cobra Engine??

I was wondering if anybody knew how I could get my hands on a 96 to 98 4.6L Cobra engine without having to actually buy a Cobra. my father wants to swap one into his Ranger. Are there any aftermarket companies that just sell the engine alone??

Try www.stangparts.com
They sell whole cars and parts. I'm sure you can find what you're looking for there.

You can order them from the Ford Motorsport Catalog, which is available at your local Ford dearlership. I think they cost around $5000.

Thanks for the info. I'll check that web site and at the ford dealership.

I believe you are better off buying a totaled--rollover--cobra. A friend of mine bought a 1997 Cobra for $3500. He kept the engine, tranny and computer for his 55 T-Bird and sold the remainder of the car for parts. He made a small profit.

Yeah I think I'm going to just wait and see if I can find one that's been in an accident and try and salvage the engine, computer and drivetrain. Thanks everyone for the advice.

when you find one go early because the little things like the cobra spare tire are worth extra$$
