cold air induction
Just had a quick question...just wondering if i could get any info on aftermarket cold air induction kits. Like a good reliable brand or if anyone has had any problems or anything. If heard mixed from a few friends. Any help would be great thanks.

I have to agree. I have the BBK kit and it looks good and was an improvement over stock. I think that you would get the same effect just dropping in the K&N and taking out the air silencer. There really is no temp change in the air going into the intake and the fender well kit might even hurt u in the long term if u dont clean it often.

What about the base though? The base has a very small inlet for that big ole filter....unless by 'air silencer' you mean the base....in which case, how'd you bolt the assembly up? Or did you just use some special type of clamps, screws, rubber bands, bubble gum, etc. to get the filter to stay attached to the upper lid?

I agree with the others. If you want some show then get one. If you just want go, pull the silencer and put in a K&N. You have to pull piece off the fender to get to the silencer (4 nuts). I have a MAC and had to modify it to not hit strut tower but looks great. Your other option is go with a conical K&N and maybe put a sheild on it to keep the hot air off.
