The computer takes a freeze frame when the airbag goes off and stores it in the computer untill it is cleared with a scan tool. The freeze frame data are things like vehicle speed and stuff like that. These are stored because customers tried sueing the car manufacturer, saying that their air bag went off too late. I'm not sure if the computer in the mustang has that though.
