![]() I'm about to get some new mufflers and was looking at the Dynamax Ultra Flows does anyone know how they compair to the flowmaster 40's? I'm about sick and tired of my 50's and want something louder but in the straight through design to go with my X-pipe. Does anyone know how much louder the ultra flows are than the 40's or the 50's? Also does anyone know anything about the MAC Pro dumps compaired to the other two? Thanks for the help.

![]() I have Ultra Flows with a Bassani X-pipe. It sounds cool at higher RPMs, but are pretty quiet at idle and low RPMs.

![]() Plus the Flowmaster 40 series are not straight flow thru. Look into the Magnaflow mufflers. They are straight flow thru. I have Magnaflow on my Lightning and it sounds great, though I've got an off road h-pipe and not the X. Very deep, low exhaust tone.

![]() Thanks for the info, but I guess that I sould say that I'm trying to find something that sounds close to a H-pipe 40 series combo. Does anyone know of anything that would sound close to that combo with an X-pipe? I love the sound of an H with 40's, but I don't want to give up the X.

![]() it'll never sound like the h pipe because the x changes the sound. if you want louder get the 40 series. bassani actually recommends the flow through muff.(dynomax type) for best perf.though. I have the ultra flows and really enjoy them. they are on the quiet side but they do have a real nice sound when you get on it though. i like them more than flows, especially when you don't have to turn the stereo up 3/4 of the way to here it as is nec. with flows.jmo.

![]() Well if the Dynomax Ultra Flows are on the quiet side. Who makes the loudest Flow through type muffler? I thought the dynomax utlra flows were the loudest. I'm looking to try and get something as equal too or a little louder than the 40's by flowmaster. I don't wont to get the 40's because they arn't flow through. Is the Dynomax ultra flow the loudest that I'm going to get or are there louder?

![]() I was just looking through Jeg's and saw that they have two different Ultra Flow mufflers listed. On is the Ultra Flow Weld and the other is the Ultra Flow SS. What is the diff. between the two? Also which muffler is the loudest from dynomax; The super Turbo, the ultra flow SS or the ultra flo weld?

![]() the super turbos are similar to 3 chamber flows, ultra ss are stainless steel(real pretty)they are held together with a bead(like a reg. muff.) the last one is welded together like a flow. the insides are the same(ss & welded) as far as i know though. I think the last one is the loudest of the 3, but not positive.(welded)
p.s. the super turbo is not a flow through. I think borla is flow through and maybe bassani, but can't remember. maybe some one else will? ------------------ 96 stang, ported 99 heads, 99 intake, 99 cams,Steeda power pullies,Kirban adj.reg.,Pro-m 87,24#inj.,70mm t/b,Bassani x-pipe w/cats, Dynomax ultraflow catback, iat mod, home depot ram air, k@n,373's,cobra brakes, fms spings, tri-ax shifter. |

![]() Thanks 46stang that explains the price diff. between the utra flo SS and the ulta flo weld (59.99 vs. 139.99). I was looking at them both trying to figure out what could cause the price diff, but if one is stainless and the other is Al then that makes sense. I think I'm going to go with the welds.

![]() I had a Bassani offroad X-pipe and 40 series Flows on my Stang and the sound was nothing short of awesome. Up to 2750 rpm, it sounds just like a H-pipe, but when the revs get abouve 3000, you really start to hear the difference between an X and a H.

![]() I've only heard one set of borlas. They were on a '99 Cobra with an x/ pipe. The car had this annoying buzz or hum to it. I could stand it, does your car have anything like that or could it of just been this one car?
