WARM ENGINE, not HOT.... Gunk works better on warm grease and grime.

RINSE with a garden hose nozzle, not a high pressure unless it's a real greasy spot and you need to really hit it.

Blow off with an air hose. If you don't have a compressor, just let the water evaporate. Wipe off the plug wires with a rag. Once in a while I have had to pull the distributor cap and wipe the moisture out with a rag.

I've been doing it this way for for years. Maybe someone else can suggest other ways.
