Thumbs up Engine code FYI

Someone posted last year with a question on the engine code designation in the VIN of 96-98 GT's. On the SOHC 4.6's the engine letter showed up as both "X" and "W".
Those with the "W" are the Japanese export cars and didn't have cats.
This isn't earth shattering news or anything but it was brought up before so I wanted to pass on the info. I don't have the issue in front of me but the latest Mustang Monthly has a phone number you can call to find out how many cars are optioned just like yours. I'll post the late model registry number when I get home after work if anyone is interested. I found out the the are 89 cars total in 1996 exactly like mine. It's good info to have. Anyway I asked the guy (Stuart Jones) about the "X" "W" thing and that's when he told me about the export version.

Just passin' it on...
