Default Is 2002 GT Governed????

I have a 2002 Gt and would like to know if it is governed at about 125 MPH? Is it possible to take the governor off with the stock computer? If an aftermarket chip is required are there any suggestions? Thanks for your help

yes it's governed at about 138. You can eliminate this with a hypertech programmer, which is at most speed shops. Do not be stupid and do this just to go 160MPH for the hell of it.

I'm not sure about the newer ones but in my car's year...

If you had the optional 17" wheels, you did not get the speed limiter.

If you got the 16" wheels stock then you got the "governor".
